Never mind the silly fuel efficient Civic's and Camry's, or the gas guzzling F-150's to go to and from work in. The padding was removed from the seats so he would sit lower in the car, and the seats were bolted as far away from the steering wheel as possible to maximize the leg room. Even with these modifications you can still see that Selleck's head is higher than the top of the front windshield frame! You very rarely saw Magnum drive with the top up. |

A C5 Corvette, like this one.
Edit: fucking hell Autotrader links are the worst. Hopefully that works. |

Used Fusion. I've had 2 that I ran to 100k with very few problems. Depending on year you should be able to buy one certified for that kind of money. If you were in NY I would try to hook you up.

Dude.......let me tell you why you should buy this car.
1. You live in Florida 2. It's fast. 3. 30 mpg hwy is going to happen if you keep your foot out 4. parts are cheap as hell 5. You deserve the best. You have worked hard and this is your reward. |

Sporty, 30mpg, reliable, and under 15k? Neva gonna happin. How about this Sporty Cheap High Gas Mileage ... pick two. View Quote ^ Not sure this holds true. If he wants cheap and sporty looking with good mpg he could get a Dodge Dart. Which brings us to the real issue: Fast Cheap Reliable Pick any 2. ETA: Just noticed OP is looking at 2012 models. If we're talking about used cars there are many more options. OP, what's the earliest model year you would consider? Do you need a warranty? |

You could get a new Focus in that price range. Mine has been excellent

I'm looking for something sporty with good gas mileage (30ish mpg). I haven't paid attention to cars in twenty years (two marriages and a kid), so I am looking for ideas. I'm 6'2", 190lbs, drive about fifteen miles one way to work. I'm liking the 2012 Honda Civic coupe, but I decided to throw this into GD and see what ideas (and yuks) pop up. View Quote I'll also point out that you may not fit too well in the civic. I'm an inch or two shorter than you and its perfect for me but I definitely don't have room to spare with headroom and legroom being what it is. |
|
haha, polar opposite ends of the spectrum... |
|
I've got a 2011 civic and it's been a great car.
I want a truck |
|
I don't think I read any of the title, but you could get a brand new Mazda 3 for probably $15k. The 2010 we had was less than that. It was better-built than my Tacoma, as far as fit and finish.
|
|
Take a look at a Ford Escape Hybrid 4x4. I have a 2005 and it is a beast, 29/30 mpg in Kentucky hill country. For 15k you can get a really nice one with all the bells and stuff. Been off road and in the snow and blow with mine and it's great. You can haul a "S" ton of stuff in it too. You being so close to work your monthly gas expence should be like nill. O and chicks dig it.

I'm 6'3" 250lbs. I have a Subaru Forester that I daily drive in place of my F150. Best decision I ever made in a vehicle. They can be had used for $13000 with low miles 50-60k which is just broke in for a Subaru. They are easy to maintain. They get around 30mpg with the best AWD available. They seldom have any mechanical issues other than basic wear and tear. They are made in America. Good luck in your search

2nd gen Lexus IS350
ETA: Let me qualify that. You can get a sub 100K mile IS350 for $16k or so Toyota reliability Lexus Luxury IS350 has 300hp so you get some performance and it has four doors. I average 28mpg on my '07 IS250 AWD...so a RWD 350 should average around that or more (I think Lexus' ratings were 29mpg highway which means you should get higher) Decent aftermarket to have some fun with the car.

Civic is a reliable choice. If you want to have fun with this go for the Nissan Z car.
I have owned 3 Accords in my life but next time the daily driver combo is going to be a 370Z (with 7-9 lbs boost) in summer and a CRV in Winter. |

I saw the post and was going to rec an 06 LS2 GTO with low miles.
But I confused you for a man. After reading about your gas mileage concerns and looking at a Honda I think you should get a used Saturn, drive around blaring your Indigo Girls, and hand out with your fellow lesbians. |

You car gurus do know a c5 vette with the 6speed will get 28-30 mpg cruising the hwy with the a/c right?
