The first few days will be fine, he will be acting normal. But then the scabs start coming off the incision site and all hell breaks loose. The exposed raw tissue causes a LOT of pain when something touches it. Be proactive with his codeine cough syrup.
Two of our three boys have had tonsils and adnoids removed. Both were out of recovery quick, back home, watching TV, eating so we're thinking piece of cake. And then armageddon. Kids would wake up screaming in the middle of the night begging for their pain medicine. Very heart breaking to hear. Good luck and prepare yourself. |
