For the record, I am certainly NOT comfortable with the Patriot Act. It concerns me deeply.

But then, I look back when we were putting Japanese US citizens in internment camps after the attack on Pearl. And I'd support doing that again were circumstances the same.

So I maintain some hope we'll survive the Patriot Act.

Wasn't aware you had your own website.

Im certainly not gonna bash Kerry...he can do that to himself...lets look at his senate voting record shall we...??????

Look at how many times he "DID NOT VOTE" because he wasnt there....

www.vote-smart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=S0421103

Now...you give me reasons why I should vote for Kerry. What good has he done? What are his plans for this country..? I hear him chime about I can do this better, we can change that...It shows he hasnt been there voting on specific issues that effect all of us...how can he change what he has never been involved in.

Just give me 5 good reasons why, that do not include "because he's NOT Bush".

Cyanide. It's a good question but I don't think it is legit.

If we don't fight the terror war, none of that other stuff matters.

I don't believe there is anyone who thinks Kerry will be committed to that fight.

Politics??? VERY little of what you have posted recently has to do with politics. You demonstrate time and time again your total lack of understanding of what the meaning of "POLITICS" is. Your questions/arguments are nothing more than childish demagogic rants.

Internet Service Provider. Section 210 Go read it.

They classed me in as if I were Earthlink, and not a guy who has some servers in his basement running his own website. They compelled me to give credit card data (of which I don't even charge). They wanted server IP logs, and a signed, sworn 16 page affidavit explaining why I don't keep server logs, the difference between me and AOL, and why I don't have credit card information was insufficient. The defense challenged this and was granted the right to sieze my personal property (a server cluster which most small companies would drool over), and then proceed to tear apart my databases, and website codes looking for IIS logs and fields in databases that didn't exist.

Don't worry, I spent the money to quash the subpoena on the grounds that even the URL that they had listed was wrong and inconsistent throughout the order. (.net vs. .com)

Didn't matter. The judge threw out the motion to quash.

Cost me around $5,000 in legal fees to deal with something of which there was never even any involvement over except the newspaper article to the conviction having been posted in the discussion forum with a link.

Some asshole defense attorney thought he could dig up something to try and get a mistrial.... at my personal expense.

No... the only terrorists are the ones who have started misusing the Patriot Act -- not to catch terrorist and organized criminals, but to try to throw a mistrial because they wanted to try to create the possibility that a juror had posted the article. They got on Google, found our site, and decided to be assholes -- at my expense, endorsed by the Federal Government.

Fuck the Patriot Act, Fuck every legislator who voted for it (some without even reading it), and fuck GWB for signing it. Fuck the federal judge who cost me $5000 over it and fuck anyone who doesn't think that it couldn't happen to them.

If we are to believe your statements that you are indeed going to vote for GWB and you have a sticker on your Jeep and GWB underoos etc...etc....
Then what is your point in slamming GWB every single chance you get ??
What is the point ?
I can understand not agreeing with him on certain issues, I do too, but its quite clear that the alternative is unacceptable.
So what is your point ?? What are you trying to achieve ??

And remember boys and girls, here on ARFCOM its illegal to start a thread that asks a question of another member.
Even though theres nothing in the COC about it.

I respect you so
I will answer

All I can say is after reading all the fuck Kerry posts, all the his wife is ugly posts, all the I am not going to buy Heinz Ketchup posts, all the Swift boat bash a vet posts after they said different in previous addresses -- it made me wonder - was it fact or fiction ?

I shook the wasps nest to see if it was occupied I guess, what I mean is I wanted fast facts, not cut and pastes on what was going on here from the GOP HQ.

All I got regrettably , was -- fuck you eat shit and die responses. Well it soon became apparent after repeated tries that I was not going to get anything except cut and pastes from GOP HQ. and fuck you responses, oh and yeah -- fuck Kerry .

So I gave up today -- I guess the site isn't going to be fruitful in that regard. That is ok - I will read the news papers and get my info from them !

As I do not want to be banned , suspended, hated beyond belief, I let it drop.

I am far from a political student major, and am the last one Kerry would want to fight for him and make his points. But the slant here is too steep to get the true facts -- I Will get them else where.

And that is my last word on this matter -- I hope.

My son (8th grade) came home and told me about how all the teachers in his school are freaked out about No Child Left Behind. They are all bent out of shape because kids who do not do well have mandatory after school study groups. If they fail to pass at the end of the year they will actually be held back (oh! the horror). No more half-assed summer school so they can slip by. If No Child Left Behind actually make kids earn the grades they get and not be simply passed along - I LIKE IT.

Well folks I just got my Poly Sci degree (which don't mean a hell of a lot I can assure you). I would like to comment on this even though I am a habitual lurker and not really much of a poster. I am voting for G.W. this round. I cannot stand Kerry, as I firmly believe that his platform is but a watered down form of Socialism.

Bush however has played a key role in instituting things that I do not like, namely the Patriot Act.

The Patriot Act does, to some degree, extend the powers of government to "infiltrate" certain groups, e.g. this message board, gun clubs, militias, etc. You may ask how is the PA detrimental to us?

Well for starters, the government has the ability to filter and record every single phone call made in the world. New fiber optic technology can "attach" information on a broader spectrum of light wavelengths. This technology is incredible. Every phone call in the world could be run simultaneously through an orange wire smaller in diameter than a phone cord. The older Wolverine system has been given more freedom of motion (so to speak) from the Patriot Act which coincides with this newer technology. Conversations can be sorted and prioritized depending upon what words are spoken and how often they were used.

Don't kid yourself that the Patriot Act is going to be effective for catching terrorists. During the 9/11 commission questioning the FBI flatly refused to use racial profiling as a means to combat terrorism. Apparently, political correctness comes before self-preservation.

I think Bush is a good man. I do think that there are things that have happened in his administration that will haunt us in the future. Make no mistake, the Patriot Act is a powerful weapon. It is my fear that in the future, less patriotic (read liberal), administrations will use it to OUR detriment. When a liberal administration redefines the "threat" to be the "right wing gun nuts" we will then truly understand what this legislation means.

Here's what it all comes down to for the Bush administration. The future will pass judgement on President Bush because he had to make an incredibly difficult decision: To what extent are we willing to relinquish our freedom to increase our relative safety? The answer the current administration (or more specifically the FBI) has come up with is to increase the surveillance of everyone, thus dodging the "political correctness" bullet.

That said, if I have to crawl on my hands and knees to the polls I will. And when I get there I will pull the straight ticket handle for "R".

Of course, my opinion plus seventy nine cents wont even get you a cup of coffee at Mc. Donalds.

7. Established a $2.4 billion fund to help states implement teacher accountability systems.

8. Increased funding for the Troops-to-Teachers program, which recruits former military personnel to become teachers.

3. Established a $10 million grant program to promote private conservation initiatives.

4. Significantly eased field-testing controls of genetically engineered crops.

5. Changed parts of the Forestry Management Act to allow necessary cleanup of the national forests in order to reduce fire danger.

6. Part of national forests cleanup: Restricted judicial challenges (based on the Endangered Species Act and other challenges), and removed the need for an Environmental Impact Statement before removing fuels/logging to reduce fire danger.

7. Killed Clinton's CO2 rules that were choking off all of the electricity surplus to California.

8. Provided matching grants for state programs that help private landowners protect rare species.

Defense & Foreign Policy

8. Has been one of the strongest, if not THE strongest friend Israel has ever hand in the U.S. presidency.

9. Part of the coalition for an Israeli/Palestinian "Roadmap to Peace," along with Great Britain, Russia and the EU.

Globalization & Internationalism

1. Challenged the United Nations to live up to their responsibilities and not become another League of Nations (in other words, showed the UN to be completely irrelevant).

2. Killed U.S. involvement in the International Criminal Court.

3. Told the United Nations we weren't interested in their plans for gun control (i.e., the International

4. The only President since the founding of the UN to essentially tell that organization it is irrelevant. He said: "The conduct of the Iraqi regime is a threat to the authority of the United Nations, and a threat to peace. Iraq has answered a decade of UN demands with a decade of defiance. All the world now faces a test, and the United Nations a difficult and defining moment. Are Security Council resolutions to be honored and enforced, or cast aside without consequence? Will the United Nations serve the purpose of its founding, or will it be irrelevant?" We all know the outcome and the answer.

5. Told the Congress and the world, "America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our country."

Government Reform

1. Improved government efficiency by putting hundreds of thousands of jobs put up for bid. This weakens public-sector unions and cuts undeserved pay raises.

2. Initiated review of all federal agencies with the goal of eliminating federal jobs (completed September 2003) in an effort to reduce the size of the federal government while increasing private sector jobs.

3. Led the most extensive reorganization the Federal bureaucracy in over 50 years: After 9/11, condensed 20+ overlapping agencies and their intelligence sectors into one agency, the Department of Homeland Security.
5. Converted federal service contracts to performance-based contracts wherever possible so that the contractor has measurable performance goals.

Health

1. Strengthen the National Health Service Corps to put more physicians in the neediest areas, and make its scholarship funds tax-free.
3. Signed Medicare Reform, which includes:
A 10-year privatization option.
Prescription drug benefits: Prior to this reform, Medicare paid for extended hospital stays for ulcer surgery, for example, at a cost of about $28,000 per patient. Yet Medicare would not pay for the drugs that eliminate the cause of most ulcers, drugs that cost about $500 a year. Now, drug coverage under Medicare will allow seniors to replace more expensive surgeries and hospitalizations with less expensive prescription medicine.

More health care choices: As President Bush stated, "…when seniors have the ability to make choices, health care plans within Medicare will have to compete for their business by offering higher quality service [at lower cost]. For the seniors of America, more choices and more control will mean better health care. These are the kinds of health care options we give to the members of Congress and federal employees. What's good for members of Congress is also good for seniors.
Homeland Security, Border Enforcement & Immigration
1. *See Government Reform above. Under President Bush's leadership, America has made an unprecedented commitment to homeland security.
2. Has CONSTRUCTION in process on the first 10 ABM silos in Alaska so that America will have a defense against North Korean nukes. Has ordered national and theater ballistic missile defenses to be deployed by 2004.

3. Announced a 9.7% increase in government-wide homeland security funding in his FY 2005 budget, nearly tripling the FY 2001 levels (excluding the Department of Defense and Project BioShield).

4. Before DHS was created, there were inspectors from three different agencies of the Federal Government and Border Patrol officers protecting our borders. Through DHS, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) now consolidates all border activities into a single agency to create "one face at the border." This not only better secures the borders of the United States, but it also eliminates many of the inefficiencies that occurred under the old system. With over 18,000 CBP inspectors and 11,000 Border Patrol agents, CBP has 29,000 uniformed officers on our borders.
6. Launched Operation Tarmac to investigate businesses and workers in the secure areas of domestic airports and ensure immigration law compliance. Since 9/11, DHS has audited 3,640 businesses, examined 259,037 employee records, arrested 1,030 unauthorized workers, and participated in the criminal indictment of 774 individuals.
9. This week, the US-VISIT program began to digitally collect biometric identifiers to record the entry and exit of aliens who travel into the U.S on a visa. Together with the standard information, this new program will confirm compliance with visa and immigration policies.

10. Eliminated INS bureaucratic redundancies and lack of accountability.

11. Split the Immigration and Naturalization Service into two agencies: one to protect the border and interior, the other to deal with naturalization.
13. Established a six-month deadline for processing immigration applications.

Judiciary & Tort Reform
2. Killed the liberal ABA's unconstitutional role in vetting federal judges. The Senate is supposed to advise and consent, not the ABA.

4. Supports class action reform bill which limits lawyer fees so that more settlement money goes to victims.
Politics
2. Signed an EO enforcing the Supreme Court's Beck decision regarding union dues being used for political campaigns against individual's wishes.

Second Amendment

1. Ordered Attorney General Ashcroft to formally notify the Supreme Court that the OFFICIAL U.S. government position on the 2nd Amendment is that it supports INDIVIDUAL rights to own firearms, and is NOT a Leftist-imagined "collective" right.

4. *See Globalization & Internationalism.

Traditional Values, Compassion & Volunteerism

2. Started the USA Freedom Corps, the most comprehensive clearinghouse of volunteer opportunities ever offered. For the first time in history, Americans can enter geographic information about where they want to get involved, such as state or zip code, as well as areas of interest ranging from education to the environment, and they can access volunteer opportunities offered by more than 50,000 organizations across the country and around the world.

3. Established the The White House Office and the Centers for the Faith-Based and Community Initiative — located in seven Federal agencies. The faith-based initiative supports the essential work of these important organizations. The goal is to make sure that grassroots leaders can compete on an equal footing for federal dollars, receive greater private support, and face fewer bureaucratic barriers. Work focuses on at-risk youth, ex-offenders, the homeless and hungry, substance abusers, those with HIV/AIDS, and welfare-to-work families.

4. The White House released a guidebook fully describing the Administration's belief that faith-based groups have a Constitutionally-protected right to maintain their religious identity through hiring — even when Federal funds are involved.

5. Issued an EO implementing the Supreme Court's Olmstead ruling, which requires moving disabled people from institutions to community-based facilities when possible.

6.Increased funding for low-interest loan programs to help people with disabilities purchase devices to assist them.

7. Revised the Department of Housing and Urban Development's Section 8 rent subsidies to disabled people, permitting them to use up to a year's worth of vouchers to finance down payments on homes. HUD has started pilot programs in 11 states.

Ok I weeded out the bullshit and stuff that I asked not be included.
Some of the stuff you included was Congress and the Senete -- not GW.

Some of is is Media boloney

Some of it is /was in place by states before the feds got involved.

By they way right out of the GOP web site

Oh I'm really really sorry I started all this Bush bashing. I'll go away and you'll never hear from me again. Really, I mean it this time. I'm taking my attitude with me too. I am. Really

Newsflash, oh rude one who apparently thinks he's being clever trolling my name -

NOTHING that is "felt at the state capitol" would IN ANY WAY effect the Patriot Act which you demonize.

Or do I need to explain the difference between state and federal gov't to you??

Ya see, the FEDERAL gov't is the one who makes FEDERAL laws, like the Patriot Act....get it???

The folks in your state capitol in Columbus(??) do not.....repeat DO NOT.... make Federal law.

The Patriot Act is FEDERAL law. YOu understanding any of this??

That is real easy to do.

You simply tell the enemy (the Marxist Dems) that you'll sign the bill that comes to your desk...

...then you instruct your field generals (Delay and Frist) that NO BILL will come to your desk.

Effectively killing the AWB.

War (for freedom and Second Amendment rights) is a dirty business.

And I have NO PROBLEM deceiving the enemy. Its what war is all about.

Ummmm.... .derrr... ummm..... derr....... yuh means we gots more gubment den mah state kapitul?

Don't be a dumbass... wait... it's genetic for you...

I suggested you get politically active to counter the Patriot Act, which by your own statement is what MADE YOU all angry about Bush,a nd is the genesis for all your trollish anger you spout here.

I suggest political activism to redress these grievances./

You reply by saying you are active at the STATE level.

Patriot Act is Federal law.

What you are doing is like fishing for trout in your neighbors pool.

So, who's the (expletive deleted) here??

Then you should be well tired of John Kerry.

From his 1971 Senate Foreign Relations Committee testimony:
Source
"I would like to talk, representing all those veterans, and say that
several months ago in Detroit, we had an investigation at which over 150
honorably discharged and many very highly decorated veterans testified to
war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes
committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all
levels of command."

He goes on to give specific examples of these war crimes:
"They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears,
cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and
turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at
civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot
cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the
country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and
the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied
bombing power of this country."

So here we have it: John Kerry gave a sworn testimony to the Senate
Foreign Relations Committee in 1971 stating that he and his 150 "Winter
Soldiers" believed this barbaric and horrific behavior ***that they admit
to committing*** to be commonplace for US forces in VN. Remember,
"...crimes committed on a day-to-day basis..."

These heinous lies about his fellow servicemen make him a complete
disgrace to all who served in VN.

Of course they have a huge problem with it... and I am sure they will try to find a candidate to run against me in the next primary -- except we've already found alternate candidates of like-minded thought to run against the other side....

He already told us what he is in another thread---he's a professional troll. Not just on ar15.com but in real life as well, apparently.

Truer words were seldom spoken. You summed it up well.

Professional fraud. With a specialty in annoyance.

Tel me what Pres . Bush has done in the last 4 years that you like, all I ask is that it not be connected to 911
to Iraq
or guns.

List them please ???

Weather you asked or not, INVADING IRAQ, UN BE DAMNED is the single most important accomplishment of his career.

Signed the PATRIOT act, providing clarification as to allready available law enforcement measures for use against terrorisim. (What annoys me about PATRIOT is that you need to pass a law to let the police serve warrants when you're not home, or observe suspected criminals from public property/plain view. But in our messed up 'crat-infested government, it was needed, so it got done. +1 BUSH)....

Most of Bush's accomplishments have been foreign policy or 9/11 related...

Domestically, his only major policy accomplishment has been tax cuts, the rest are neutral, although I wish he'd have vetoed McCain/Feingold....

Oh, and Benedict Arnold was a vet, too...
