It's a lid, it's supposed to cover what's in the bucket. Leave it alone, it seems to be working fine.

Please do not search before posting, it's not the arfcom way |

Now I don't feel nearly as stupid as I did a little while ago.
Bucket lid should have about 10-12 tabs on the bottom edge of the lid. Pop each tab out, and when they are all out lid should pry off pretty easily..........

Thanks, I needed a laugh. |

If you have any 3 year olds running aruond ask them for help, oh and be careful after you get the bucket open no to fall into it head first as the could result in a drowning
Take the bucket and the receipt back to the store and get your money back you are not qualified to own this bucket.

Your village called, and they want you back. They're sending a limo to pick you up!http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/91/shortbus15gq.jpg

I was just going to ask the same thing |

Check and make sure you're trying to open the correct end...
EDIT: Post 999...I almost wasted the big 1,000. Whew... |

Shit, thelastgunslinger, I just had all my "stupid questions" beat.

This is a Home Depot Bucket.
Fifty Cent, Too Short, all of them talk about a Home Depot Bucket. But I'm the only one professional enough as far as I know it, to carry a Home Depot Bucket. I'm the only one professional enough to...BOOM! |

Quality laugh ammo... |

evenly spaced (4-5inches) vertical cuts on the overhang lip of the lid should do the trick.
have nothing constructive just want to see how this turns out
For the love of all that is holy. You ARE bored, ain't you? |
Dude, if you cannot open a bucket, I think you really should not be messing with explosive targets. Or guns even. or a car, or a fork.
You can't open a f(*&!ng bucket, but you feel qualified to play with explosives?!?!?! So, that's how things look in the shallow end of the gene pool! Wow, a Darwin award in the making! Best of luck with that bucket!
Oh yea, about the Man-Card.....oh...never mind! |
That is exactly what I needed. You have to push hard on the middle of the lid to get it open; I called the manufacturer and they told me so. It looks like that thing pushes the center for you. I'm telling you guys, this bucket was no joke. |
mmmm. four pages. absolutely amazing. i'll check back later to see if the buckets open. |
The bucket has been open for some time now. I would have updated earlier, but my internet was down for a while, then I was hosting a poker game at my house.
I knew I was in for some shit with this thread, but goddammit that bucket was hard to open! There is a bit of a 'trick' to it. It won't open by just pulling on the edge of the lid, you have to be pressing in the center of the lid at the same time. I learned this by calling the manufacturer. |
I noticed the sticker before I put the lid on the first time. When I finally got it off, there it was taunting me with the instructions on how to remove the lid. WTF did they put that sticker on the inside of the lid?? |
so they wouldn't get lost??? |
I'm actually pretty good with a fork. |

#1 I can't believe I am still up and reading this shit! and tend to agree with the above post, if it took two days to open that bucket, you may not be qualified to use its contents. I hope your next post isn't any you guys tried to jerk off with a hook for a hand?
For the record, none of you guys knew how to open the bucket, or posted the correct answer anyway (except those who suggested the bucket opening tool, that would have worked). I assure you, if you didn't know to push down on the center with one hand while pulling up on the edge, you weren't getting anywhere with this thing.
ETA: and even then it was still pretty fucking hard to get open. |
Oh, it was one of those "easy open" buckets. You should've mentioned that. |

Before I posted that, I did a search for Tannerite ingredients. I couldn't find anything. [/quote Tannerite does NOT have ammonium nitrate, however you can pick up amonium nitrate at any local hardware store, it's called fertilizer, AKA AnFo, AKA Oklahoma City minus the diesel fuel. Technically as long as you have binary components, that are not mixed together you are not in violation of any laws, if you do mix any together, you must use it where you mixed it, do not take mixed compound and throw it in your truck. At that point you would be transporting a hazardous material, if you have a hazmat license, you'd be ok except for the issue of placarding the outside of the vehicle. Stay safe, and have fun with low velocity explosives. |

I can see some poor FBI schmuck laughing his ass off in a monitoring room reading this thread because their monitoring program hit upon key words like ammonium nitrate, explosive, and Oklahome City.
I know; too funny! |
"Long shaft provides extra leverage." LOL, I keep trying to get my wife to advertise that to her girlfriends for me, but she hasn't taken the bait yet........... |
Reason for returning bucket? "It's defective." |
Fourteen pgs and a lock. |
I read the Tannerite patent, and it DOES have ammonium nitrate. Tannerite Patent Notice that the oxider is 85% ammonium nitrate by weight. |
