I saw the "Nine 0 Nine" at Northeast Philadelphia Airport (PNE) around 10 years ago. I did not take a ride, it was just a static display.

There was a B-24 with it...

I fly the B-29 FIFI and B-24 DIAMOND LIL, both CAF aircraft. Our tour season starts in two weeks. This is the first year that rides are available on the the B-29. Check out the schedule at http://www.cafb29b24.org/    Remember the day it was 5000 degrees in the shade at Nagasaki!

Great pics!

There was a B17 at Albany Int'l Airport here in NY a couple years ago, "Sentimental Journey" - beautiful plane.

But I need a host; photobucket won't do these pictures justice. I had a Nikon D100 with a wideangle lense and my dad a D200 with a fisheye lense. What a great, once in a lifetime experience.

Transferring them to Fieroloki now; they're big files so watch out lol.

Did you get chased by a Messershmidt 109 or run into german flak?

You sir, are a dog!

I was able to tour Nine O' Nine about 3 yrs ago. Amazing how big they seem on the outside and how tiny they are on the inside. And how thin the skin is. And...and....and....WOW!!! Took real men with great big brass ones to go up in those planes day after day! And I was fortunate to talk to many of those men and ground crew that day too. What an experience.

Thanks for the pics.
Something else to put on my "To Do" list.
I mentioned these rides a while back to my Dad.He was on Navy PB4Ys in the Big One.He said,"Why the hell would anyone PAY to ride on one of those things?"
Just feels like something I need to do.

I walked through one when I was younger but never flown in one yet. I bet that would be awesome.

Sweet pics! Someday I need to do that.

Every once in a while a B-17 will fly over head by me. I seriously have to stop and just stare until that awesome recip growl fades into the distance.

NICE!!!!!!!!!

Lucky bastard!

We had one flying around town and it was an unusual prop sound compared to other prop planes... looked up and WOW!!!

I am surprised though at how small the fuselage is inside. Very misleading when you look at the outside of the plane.

Thanks for sharing... VERY NICE!
