Look at the BlackWater guys that got waxed - drove the same route everyday for weeks? WTF?

The Blackwater Guys were set up by the Iraqi Police… it would not have mattered if they had changed the route daily, the Police escort sprung the ambush.

Id do it. I could be recalled to active duty again and killed for less money. most guys do it for a couple yrs and then semi retire.

I don't think thats enough cash to justify it, If your going you have to think I am doing something to help (fellow military, protect people, etc)

You can make 60 grand being CHP in CA

Triple Canopy is paying $700 a day. You stay in the green zone and mostly do escorts. So you are paid better and spend your nights in a "safer" area. That is if you qualify for the job. I'm not sure if you work 7 days a week or not nor what compensation you get for your days off so it is just a little better than the Military. Huge selection of weapons and all armored vehicles to boot.

I'm absolutely sure it wasn't meant to single me out personally; just those who are considering or have taken a protective services job in Iraq.

The problem, as I've stated, is that the original poster's information does not apply in all cases. The things that were assumed are not necessarily the case. Did I come on strong? Certainly, but I stated my FACTS with little or no more force than the original poster did his second or third hand, not always applicable, heard-it-from-this-guy assumptions.

"How much is your life worth?" A better question would be: "What business is it of yours if you're not coming with me?"

If anyone has questions about what things are REALLY like over here --aside from "How much are you making?" and anything OPSEC-- click my IM or e-mail.

As comm gear is a specialty of mine, this would be a fairly easy thing
for me to handle. I know what equipment I'd need.

I don't have any combat experience. So I'd choose co-workers that could
teach me fast and help keep me safe. I'd of course do all I could to do the
same for them, and would get better at it with experience.
