All our local ranges are members only- for about 150 bucks a year you get the lock combo but they have everything from falling plates and trap to 600 yd high power ranges. I ususlly just go to a pit and clean up when I'm through.

I hate NE Illinois.

The two main ranges around here are roughly $20/hr.

Nothing. I go to the desert.

One local range charges $12/hr which is full retard in my opinion. Another, run by the state charges $7 for the day, but it can take forever to get a lane and another eternity to get anything done with the structured breaks.

Indoor range: $15 per hour
Outdoor shooting spot: Free to shoot there (public land) but it's about a half tank of gas round trip

My club is $50 per year.

We have 25, 50, 100 & 200 yard pistol/rifle, Trap & Skeet, Archery, fishing ponds & camping area.  We also have IDPA and 3-Gun matches, cowboy action shooting if you're into that and the range is .50 BMG Caliber friendly.

Have several to choose from.

#1 - I grew up there and now sit on the Board (free because of that and I run a couple of matches).Golden Triangle Gun Club
$75 initiation fee/ $75 annually thereafter and must be a NRA member

#2 - Very close to home and very knowledgeable owner - Dirty Harry's - $5.00 +tax per person, shoot all day, bring your own targets.

#3 - Will join this one soon  as it is closer than #1- Orange Gun Club - Nice facility, well maintained, allows MG and rapid fire,  looking for new programs.

As the title says, how much does your local gun range or favorite place to shoot charge you?

For me it is $12 for 3 hours. Now, I can fork over $250 or so and get a year membership, but then I'd still have to pay $6 for every range visit. And I doubt I will be shooting that much.

This is an out door range with 25 and 100 yard targets. It is a nice place to learn to shoot, friendly people and all, but no rapid fire or anything. So it gets old and expensive if you're not into getting tight groups and only want to plink.

I don't know of any local area that allows you to shoot for less either. Those of you who can find a free place to shoot like your backyard, you're lucky.

Range 1 - My preferred place for handgun and short-range carbine rifle:  Darnall's.  $75/year (with one day "work day" worked - $100 without IIRC).  Free use of outdoor facility (to include guests with me) and reduced indoor rates.  I "work" the NRA Youth Shooting Camp running the handgun line out of love of teaching them so I satisfy my "work day" requirement about 3x with just that.  I'd probably PAY to teach those kids (well, I do –– I get a hotel room).  I only wish I loved my day job as much.

Range 2 - Preferred for precision rifle work to 300m:  Danville Rifle & Pistol.  $50/year IIRC.  No fees to shoot.  Limits on guests & more rigid rules but the place is groomed like a state park.  Usually alone there, so carrying a hot rifle is a smart move for personal defense when walking downrange.

Few public ranges around.

Oh, Ottawa, IL has a range and they want a flat $25/day (last year anyway) and they are very rigid with procedures for safety (too many Chicago area folks with poor gun handling skills).  Nice facility.

I have memberships at two different ranges, both are $25/year; and you can let yourself in, all year long.

The one closest to me, 4 miles down the road , has three pistol ranges; a 100 yd rifle range; gongs out to 200 yds; and a trap range.  Pretty sweet.

Five miles from my house. $25 a year.  As many guests as I want.  No range master or offices.  Up to 300 meters available.  Hardly anyone is ever there.  Come when you want, leave when you want.  Just lock up when you're done.  Sweet huh?

I go to a somewhat small outdoor range, that has some kinda crappy rules, but having been a member so long they give me some slack on what I can do.

Cost is $15 per day/$90 annual. However I have the old price of $35 annual locked in.

8 dollars to get into the damn park then 15 to shoot. Pricey in my opinion.

I would get a yearly pass but then I would have to get a yearly parks pass to get in the park or pay the 8$ each time so fuck that. Im going to the woods.
