For the folks who don't belong to USAA, it is hard to get in, unless you are military or family of.
I've carried their insurance for like 25 years, I am off to the mailbox. I usually get like $50?, we'll see. Rob |

Just so you know:
Now Serving All Who Have Served Honorably Posted on Nov 05, 2009 | Category: From the CEO I am very pleased to let you know that eligibility for membership is now open to anyone who has ever served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces. SNIP Sincerely, Josue (Joe) Robles Jr. Maj. General, USA (Ret.) President and CEO Not sure what I got as a refund. IIRC I have it automatically applied to my insurance premium. I got so much stuff over there, I can't find anything. |

Quoted: Home owners only covers $2000-2500, can't remember which. If you have more than that you need a separate policy in case of a catastrophic loss. It's not expensive at all, $20ish a year for $10k I think for me. They ask for serials, but no pictures or safe reauirements. It's a little more than that. My brother and I share the firearms policy since all my guns are at his house right now, it's costing us nearly $300/yr right now. Of course we have quite a bit more than $10K worth, how much I'm not saying. |

$0, I don't have insurance through them. Ditto that. YET. |

It would have to be more than $350 back to make up for the difference in switching to 21st Century Auto from them. I was a loyal customer for decades, never a claim, but they won't insure my house (I live in FL) and their car insurance was $350 a year MORE than 21st Century for the same coverage. Sorry, guys, but that's way too much.

Haven't seen anything yet, but this is simply one more reason to do business with them. They run a business like they should + customer service is pretty much one of the best I have ever dealt with.

$80 and change, but this was my first year in the actual USAA pool. I think I got in it in May. Next year will be bigger.
|
|
How many cars and things are insured and for how long are you a member to get a rebate over $250.00? I have been with USAA for 23 years and have 4 cars insured.
|
|
$102.93
2 vehicles and a house insured. With them since 1976 |
|
I got about $50.
Dont forget guys, you can setup your USAA account so they auto deposit the next one. You dont have to have a paper check. The instructions are on the letter they sent with the check. |
|
$78 and some change. I didn't know I'd get anything and this was a great surprise. It is just going back to USAA to pay the bill though.

4 cars and a house insured with them...I know I designated my payment to go towards my auto premium, but I can't figure out if that has happened yet. Or if it's gonna'.

THis is no bull. I bought my truck in 2007 Note was 320ish. I had been paying that and last year I got a $500 thank you check. Thought man I really got a good rebate. This year I got a $787 check and a $125 at the beginning. I called an I had a rate reduction because I had no accidents or claims in 5 years. I just bought an M1 carbine and dont have to pay insurance till May 2010. And BTW they are the BEST to talk to after you get past the stupid automated say yes machine. I love them

Then pick Auto and Property Bill. You will now be in your account summary. Scroll down and you will see your policy holder dividend that has been subtracted from your premium. I have mine set up the same way. $77 and change. |

$62.76, but that's because I dropped them for homeowners and auto.
I would advise all of you to shop around. If you don't have any claims, Allstate should be about 30% lower than comparable USAA coverage. USAA's risk pool has gotten much larger as they've increased their membership. With all due respect to our brave E-3s, they tend to crash cars more than retirees. |

Just got off the phone with USAA. Seems like if you didn't set a preference, they mail you a check. _MaH You must be right. I didn't specify a preference and I got a check for $89. I had completely forgotten it; I hope it's in the truck somewhere. Jane |

56ish dollars yesterday for 1 car. Would be more but they won't insure our 2 motorcycles directly.

The major difference between a stock insurance company and a mutual insurance company lies in the actual ownership of the organization. A stock insurance company is owned by its stockholders, and only the stockholders have the power to effect changes within the organization. The company is run for the benefit of the shareholders, and maximizing the per-share profit and value is the top priority. On the contrary, a mutual insurance company is actually owned by those policy holders whose life insurance policies have cash value. The mutual company works in a nearly identical fashion with respect to daily operation, but major decisions and corporate management figures are decided by the policyholders Thusly mutuals pay dividends on profits. |
