I've been warned twice:

Once for starting a thread advising people that if your kid eats a whole box worth of marshmallows from Lucky Charms, his/her stool will be bright green. Unfortunately, the post contained a pic of my daughter's result.

Once for using the N-word. But in my defense, I was quoting Mark Twain, and giving an example of how he used the word satirically to actually ridicule racism.

Once for a thread asking where all the colors (that you eat) go, and once because some guy started hacking on my rifle and I mentioned something about his mom liking it or something to that effect and got told that speaking about moms was the kibosh highway.

Never. I'm pretty well behaved most of the time.

There was some flap a year or so ago where the (team) members were in an uproar over something staff did that looked very unilateral from the outside. I voiced my displeasure, and Ed. Sr. IMed me and offered to call and explain their standpoint one on one.

I haven't been banned from a forum since ca. 2000, when I was purposely a malcontent on a fundamentalist forum on delphiforums.com.

Closest I've got since was being warned not to pursue a threadjack in a Fark thread. I didn't agree but I dropped it, and a guy who tried to flame me got the boot instead.

Got a timeout in an RC forum once. I was used to posting in usenet (A.T.) and reacted to a troll like I would have in an open forum....

Never been warned/locked here though. I made it about 2 posts on the DU during Katrina-apparently advocating personal responsibility is frowned upon by the DUmmies.

Twice...once was a technical cleavage violation, a wedding pic of Jeff Gordon and his wife, WTF. The other was at an hysterical moment on arfcom, one that unfortuately happens a little too often, when words and subjects become taboo because truthfully there is no way to have a rational discussion...shit flies and it never misses the fan.

Once for BOTD pics that were posted in general.

The odd thing about it, though, was I wasn't the one who posted the pics in the first place. All I did was quote the images in a reply BUT I used the <img> tag rather than the <url> tag and...viola....I got a warning later that day.

In any case, the babe in question was hawt

and she had boobs that were the size of cantaloupes (and they looked all natural, too) so, at the end of the day, it was worth it.

Locked once--by that unruly Canadian. It wasn't my fault--he just misunderstood what I meant by "kill them all" and besides, he had a grudge against me.

I got the last laugh though as it removed me from the staff when he unlocked me. I was a regular non-Team member and he had to wake GoatBoy up at 0200 to get me restored to the staff. GB was not amused in the least, from what I understood.

I continued to post in normal fashion and, of course, there were many inquiries as to what happened.

Ban the Candians--they are troublemakers, the lot of them!

Warned once- don't remember why. I think I called somebody a dumb-ass.

Banned one during the Steyr Aug debacle. I basically said that nobody could possibly get in trouble for posting (what I considered to be) a relatively innocuous and harmless picture.
I was proven wrong.

To this day, I'm still afraid to re-up my membership fee, since there are no refunds given in the event of a perma-ban. I'll probably break down and pay up sooner of later regardless, when I can no longer stand being thought of as a cheapskate freeloader.
