Life+ for me.  The official paperwork says Endowment, but the NRA website says the next step is Benefactor.  Not really interested in the level, just donating to the cause.

After Benefactor, another way of donating will be to dress in NRA only cloths.  Problem is they don't sell pants, so I plan to make a "kilt" out of a Polo shirt.  Then they don't sell socks or underwear, so again a few more polo shirts to make these items.  Don't know what to do about shoes.

Life member here.  I did the Easy Pay Life  I have $100. left to pay.

They now have something called a Liberty Membership I think.  I stopped at the NRA table at the last gun show I was at.  I heard the guy telling someone about it.  It's $10./yr  You get the member card and benifits but no magazine.  At $10./yr there is no reason any soul who ownes a gun should not be a member.

I was a certified instructor for the "California Department of Fisheries and Wildlife" back in the early 70's. Taught "Hunter Safety Courses" which was required before one could purchase a hunting license. Think most states require this now ?

I was a member until I finally realized, they never endorse Libertarians. Kind of strange, since the Libertarian gun platform is most closely aligned with the NRA goals.

Made me think that the NRA leadership were only interested in furthering their political goals and not in the preservation of the 2nd.

I joined the Gun Owners of America instead. They don't wimp out and apologize to the ATF after calling them jack booted thugs.

Annual for two years, 5 year term, then life in 1989.
Life TSRA also since 1990.

Give two's and fews to most of the others as well.

I just wish the NRA was as effective  in its effect on national legislation as the Texas State Rifle Assoc. is here in Texas. We would be in a whole lot better shape for sure.

I am one of the "lost paperwork" casualties of a couple of years ago.
Talked with a guy from NRA HQ at the Washington Arms Collectors/NRA show recently and he told me to call a #, mention that we talked and send in some paperwork to have my Life Membership status renewed and restored.
That is this weeks project.
I'm looking forward to getting this Life Membership status taken care of.
Proud to be the NRA!

I used to be an Endowment member of the NRA until I saw that they would rather endorse an anti-gun incumbent over a pro-gun challenger, just to try to curry favor with the likely winner.  (This was Roscoe Bartlett's (R-MD) first race in 1992;  NRA endorsed his pro-Brady pro-AW-Ban incumbent-Democrat opponent instead.)

Same sort of crap went on in 1994, for Henry Hyde's (R-IL) re-election campaign AFTER he sold us out on both Brady and the AW Ban, except in that case it was NRA/ISRA "losing" the survey form from his Libertarian challenger.

The NRA isn't getting another dime from me.  It goes to groups like GOA and the Libertarians who actually want to restore our freedoms, not just more-or-less hold the line on the status quo, helping to rewrite new laws so that they are "less bad" -- or royally screwing them up, like the computer-database "instant check" that they pushed despite my screaming at them that it amounted to registration since the database could easily log each and every check. . . .
