I get mine from various people who sell it out the trunk of their car.

They have a nice Blythe that tastes a little lol alfalfa but I usually get the Prescott blend at about 17 bucks a qt. My one spoonful a day eliminated my allergies and stuffy nose...

Miracle medicine

My wife is a beekeeper. She said that many times store bought honey is from another country. What is worse, we have our local Rural King in Illinois selling so called local honey. However, there have some belief that the guy goes to Indiana and buys it, brings it back and sells it as local.......you just don't know. Know the beekeeper.

There are guys who do that here. I went to the local produce stand, wrote down all the addresses off the honey they sell and drove to them. Not even a bee flying around. One location had some dead hives and I know they spray so much, their bees cannot survive the season, much less produce honey.
Whole foods puts local stickers on honey and the container says it's mixed with foreign honey...

We buy local honey. Hives are about 4 miles from the house. A qt. Mason Jat cost me $8.
I'll usually buy one, when it gets half way down, I'll get 2 more. That lasts us most of the winter.
I would love to try raising them myself.

Bummer. My room mate grabs it and I suck it down like Winnie the Pooh

Didn't they kill half the bees in the south, spraying for the Zika virus? Which was really a non issue.

Ex GF owns a bunch of hives, may have to go pester her for honey.

$13 or so

In Bucryus Oh there is a place that has a ton of hives and sells a bunch of different kinds of honey and one of the few places I can still find honey in the comb.
That stuff is like crack to me

Plus their buckwheat honey is awesome and they are great people to deal with

Expensive here in VA.

I was going to make up a 5 gallon batch of mead but 16 or so pounds of the stuff ain't cheap.

Yesterday we picked up local raw, chemical free in 24oz jar for 10.00.

Seems like it would be a great hobby.

I got out of bees 3 years ago...problems with bears and assorted reasons for winter die off.

I was selling quarts (3 lb) for $15 and felt I was giving it away. This was premium raw honey, mostly blackberry and fireweed.

Personally I feel anyone who buys commercial honey from the grocery store is gambling with a questionable product.

China has demonstrated time and again honey tainted with pesticides and other chemicals is their practice. Once rejected by the FDA China will then export the honey to another country that will then export it to the US.

I charge $5 for 12 oz. honey bears, $10 for 32 oz. bottles and $7 for 16 oz. of creamed honey in regular or cinnamon flavor.  Cinnamon creamed honey is now my number one seller!

Sold mine for $12/lb this year.  Haven't had any trouble moving it.  Pretty bad year though...  only took 65lbs off of 7 hives this year.  I can guarantee local, raw, unfiltered honey, and that's what folks want.  Wish I had a nickel for every time I heard "but I can got to the walmarts and buy 3lbs for $2.99!!!"  I don't even try to argue anymore.  Enjoy your HFCS.

Truth be told, it's probably a bit on the high side, and I'll probably go down to $10/lb next year... we'll see.  I'm not in it for the money, but some extra income to offset my costs is a benefit.  But like any other hobby, it's not going to pay for itself.  I give most of it away, and the wife cooks alot with it.

My freshman economics professor was a firm believer that honey is going to be a form of currency one day after SHTF, since it doesn't spoil.

Like he literally reminded us every week to buy a jar every time we went grocery shopping.

I'm up to 3 5gal buckets
