No, no, no, no.  If it's gonna be ZZ Top, it's gotta be Tube Steak Boogie.

J. Geils Band - "Love Stinks"?

Seriously... not upbeat, but a great first dance number is Big & Rich's "Lost In This Moment". We usually played that one when my band did weddings...

My wife's and mine was "White Wedding."

It was awesome.

It would have been awesomer if I had thought to pull a Billy Idol sneer when we stopped to be received or whatever.

We used "Cliffs of Dover" by Eric Johnson for the wedding party intros. It was perfect for what we wanted - upbeat, with no words that would interfere with the DJ's introductions...

Then had the DJ switch to Passion Play by Loudon Wainwright when he introduced the bride and groom. It's from the "Knocked Up" soundtrack.

You got a music theme yet?  We were all New Orleans blues and jazz.  I think we used a Louis Jordan song for that.  Recessional and "our dance" were both Louis Armstrong.  We threw beads on our way in to the reception. Voodoo cake toppers.  It was a hoot.

"My Way" The Sex Pistols

"Pretty Polly" Dr. Ralph Stanley

"Die, Die, My Darling" The Misfits

"Pinhead" The Ramones

Any of those would set a memorable tone for the evening.
