Yes.
5-year-old little brother with an Ithaca lever-action single-shot .22, loaded, cocked, with his finger on the trigger, pointed at my heart. I was 7 years old. Vividly remember reaching out to grasp the barrel, pushing it away from me, taking it from him and removing the bullet from the chamber.
Not certain about this one, but about 9 years later shots were fired. A buddy and I had once again 'borrowed' another of the neighbors 3-wheelers from their carport. (We always returned them, OhTAY. )
ca. 1981 Greenwood, MS. Sometime after midnight a police car lights up behind us, chase ensues through the streets and neighborhoods.
Absolutely NO DOUBT that the officers discharged their weapons.
Just not sure if they aimed and missed, or if they were just shooting up in the air.
