I work at a gun store, so all the time by idiot customers (and employees). At least they are unloaded. Also once by a cop responding to an alarm call (we didn't get to the box quick enough and the alarm company didn't call). Moved slow and stayed calm, didn't get shot. Cop later became a customer. Fortunately none of these were particularly hostile situations.

Working graveyard shift at a hotel. 2 BG's  #1BG with a VERY short 12ga and poor trigger dicipline shaking like a leaf. #2BG with what looked like a .38 revolver.  Let me tell you I gave them every bit of cash in the drawer all $162 of it. That sucked.

BTW the end of that 12ga, at the time looked like it was the size of a drainage pipe!  At under 3' away and it pointed at my face, I'm very lucky to be here.

Got jacked up by the Marines at a certain part of Kitland AFB. Kinda scary having a teenager pointing a M-16 at your head while his partner frisks you after having you get down on the ground face first  via 1911 persuasion.

yes, Chinatown San Francisco, I was sitting on a bench near the Transamerica building with a friend late at night and a Cop comes up and points his gun at my head and tells me to put my hands in the air, they thought we were muggers or gang members..they checked us for weapons and checked our ID and asked what we were doing? then let us go.

Yes.

5-year-old little brother with an Ithaca lever-action single-shot .22, loaded, cocked, with his finger on the trigger, pointed at my heart.   I was 7 years old.  Vividly remember reaching out to grasp the barrel, pushing it away from me, taking it from him and removing the bullet from the chamber.

Not certain about this one, but about 9 years later shots were fired.    A buddy and I had once again 'borrowed' another of the neighbors 3-wheelers from their carport. (We always returned them, OhTAY. )
ca. 1981 Greenwood, MS.    Sometime after midnight a police car lights up behind us, chase ensues through the streets and neighborhoods.
Absolutely NO DOUBT that the officers discharged their weapons.
Just not sure if they aimed and missed, or if they were just shooting up in the air.

2nd time: Ugandan soldiers  (AK-47)
3rd time : Hatian security guard (12 guage)

No fire was exchanged.

Central American "toll collector". Five guys 4 with guns one with a machete surrounded our truck and for whatever reason the guy with the machete struck more fear in me than the guns.

Compared to what I've read, this story is pretty lame...

While deer hunting I was posted beside a large pine tree & watching an open field near dusk.  I was wearing my favorite suit, traditional Woolrich red & black plaid with the required by law BRIGHT ORANGE hat.  Some guy across the field walked out of the woods on the other side at 80yds & raised his rifle at me.  I put the big pine between me & him and took a knee. He lowered the gun & raised it back up quickly.  NOW I'm damn concerned.  I yelled LOUDLY from behind the tree "Don't point that fuckin' gun at me again!" He turned around and left.

Yes.....and the first time it happens its fkn scary as hell.
I get a kick out of people that talk about what they will do in a given situation...let me tell you that when it happens for real, the only thing that will save your ass is training..reactions are about instict and muscle memory...you can think anything you like, but when the adrenaline takes over, and you have less than a second to react to something, you wont have time to assess a damn thing....you simply need to react. Thankfully I had luck on my side...hope I never get tested again.
