Short answer is: yes. Technically, I was dead, too...but the intended message was received loud & clear, and acted upon once I was out of the hospital. Does this count, OP?

One of my Great Uncles was a WWII Marine Scout Sniper. He was an amazing man, and when he passed recently the mood was horribly somber at his funeral. When Taps was played and the Marines folded his flag it was really tough, until a powerful breeze blew through.
Instantaneously I felt like I was refreshed and I knew my Great Uncle's soul was swept up and away to the Heavens. I'm not overly religious, and neither is my family..... but we all felt the same relief after discussing the "powerful breeze" we had all experienced. We as humans think we know so much, but in reality, our reality holds so many secrets. |

Leaving much later that night, I start the car. radio comes on, station is playing Orion. Maybe coincidental but the timing was too much. Yes. In short, This October I had a very vivid dream. I was driving in a riding in a sweet old F150 pickup truck with a guy that I didn't know, yet he felt like my best friend. The feeling I remember were speaking to him with love like a brother. after a little while we stopped the truck and went to the bed. He opened the camper top and tailgate, and there was a nuclear bomb. He told me "to save the world we have to set this off". I remember being very upset and pleading with him that there has to be a better way. He assured me this was the only option to save the world. We chatted more, and cried. He hugged me and said I was the bravest he ever knew. I knew it was time by the look on his face, and I felt ok about it, like I knew this was the only way and I trusted this guy, this friend with it all. I took the key from his hand, inserted it into the bomb, and turned it. I was instantly woken up and in tears.
Later that day we learned that my almost 8 month old unborn son had tied a knot in his umbilical cord and passed away that night. After the shock of the news it took me a day or so to realize that the dream was him coming to me. I always call my wife "my world", and I am convinced that my boy visited me that night to give me some peace. I don't know what would or would not have happened if he lived longer, but in my mind he gave himself to save my wife, "my world". My son I got to hold once but never know was my hero. He sacrificed his life to save my wife, and nothing anyone can say would change my mind. At the time of the dream my wife and I both had absolutely no idea there were any problems. Plus some of the things in the dream were so much how I knew my son would be like, F150's, nuclear bombs, awesome ball cap he was wearing.......I named him after one of the manliest men ever, Thomas Sullivan Magnum. Thomas Sullivan, thanks again for everything my boy. Dad will see you again soon one day, and no nukes this time. |

Only experience I've had that I question is the day I had to put my dog down after having him around for 10 years. Ended up falling asleep on the couch later that day and I felt something cold on my face like a dog nose and heard his heavy panting for about 10 seconds even after I was starting to wake up. I don't know if it was a dream or real but I swear he was right in my face saying goodbye.

Not a direct experience, but..
In my senior year of high school I became close friends with a girl named Linda. Linda had been in a horrendous car wreck in freshman year. Kids out joyriding, multiple people thrown from the car, 1 girl dead (Jennifer), 1 girl in a coma (Heather), Linda was in the back seat and walked away with a broken leg and no other injuries. I think the accident aged her, and as a result she had a sort of laid back seriousness about her. I don't know exactly how to describe it, but all you need to know is that she wasn't a typical high school girl who was prone to lie or do stupid attention seeking things. One day, after we had been friends for a while, the subject of the accident came up. I hadn't heard much about it since freshman year. Linda told me that Heather was awake and receiving home care. Linda would visit her sometimes, and she told me that Heather's mental state was significantly diminished, and she essentially had the mental capacity of a child. Then I asked her if she had had a difficult time dealing with Jennifer's death. I'll never forget her response. Very calmly and normally, she replied: "Jennifer calls me" Me: Um.. like on the phone? Linda: nods Me: What does she say? Linda: It's hard to hear her. It isn't like a normal call. It's like there is silence on the line, but I can hear her in the background calling my name, over and over again. It's creepy but I can't hang up. So I just listen. Me: It's probably just somebody messing with you. Linda: No, it's her voice. And it isn't mean spirited. I'm pretty sure I heard her say "I love you" once. She went on to say that sometimes she would reply and try to communicate with Jennifer but was never really successful, and that Jennifer was trying to tell her something but she could never make out what. She said it had happened several times over the years. Given her normal serious nature and the fact that she never really exaggerated anything, I was inclined to believe her. That's all I've got. |

when my son started to talk sentences he kept asking what was his name.
We told him it was _________. he kept saying, "no not that one, my name before that one. "We did not understand what he was talking about. we finally asked him, what do you mean before? and his reply was "what was my name before I was born. I can't remember." he would talk about things that happened before he was born. He insisted he had been a fireman. it took months, but he finally stopped asking and talking about things that happened before he was born. |

I think you have to be looking for this kind of thing to believe it's real.
I enjoy tricks of the brain because it affords the opportunity to seek out an explanation. I usually learn something in the process. I've learned about night terrors, lucid dreaming, ball lightening, etc. I haven't come across anything that didn't have an explanation.

I think there are things in this world we can't begin to explain. Things that science and logic can't explain away. Some of these I'm sure are just dreams....but others I'm not so sure.

When I was a kid I saw a strange girl in the dining room of the house we lived in. Went into the room and nobody was there. My teenage daughter messed around with that wicka crap for a short time. She had a very bad experience with it and woke up on the floor with all her friends around her looking at her. Claims somebody took over her body. She was so scared she stopped doing that crap and won't even talk about it anymore. Has to be something to it. She also used to visit cemeteries taking pics at night. Came out of one saying somebody was bothering her. She had these big scratches down her back. I was waiting in the car for her and her friend and nobody else was around. Again, there is more to it than we will know in this life.

In 1989 I was an MP stationed on a security site in Germany. I was a Tower Rat and one night I dozed off in my tower.
I dreamed that I came off the Hill (what we called the site) and went home, to my house in the States. I walked in the front door and was met by my dog. I ran upstairs and threw my weapon, LBE and rucksack on my bed. Then I went downstairs to the family room. It was dark and lit only by the television which was only displaying static. My grandmother was there sitting in the big recliner and my dog went to sit next to her. I said, "Hi Grandma." and she said hello. We talked for some time, but I don't remember about what. Finally, I looked over toward the kitchen and it was brightly lit. I could see my grandfather, father, aunt and uncles. They were all milling around looking sad. My grandmother said to me, "I think it's time you went and joined everyone else." I said, "Sure, I'll come back and talk with you some more later." Then I walked into the kitchen and when I hit the light, I woke up. I had to wait almost 18 hours before I could call home. When I did get through my dad answered the phone and said, "I'm glad you called, your grandmother died last night." My response was, "I know." Before I left for basic training, my grandmother was recovering from colon cancer. When I saw her before I left for Germany, the doctors were optimistically calling her cured. When the cancer recurred no one in my family told me at her request. She didn't want me to be worried about something that I couldn't effect. I never knew she was ill until that night. |

Shortly after my Mother died, I had a dream where she came to me. At this time a lot of people were telling me they were seeing her here and there and at her funeral and stuff. They meant it in a good way, I'm sure, comforting, etc., but it was pissing me off because I happen to have complete faith in what Jesus said about the dead, how there is a large chasm that they cannot cross. They cannot communicate with us. So when the image of my Mother came to me in a dream, I said "Satan, in Jesus' Name, get thee behind me!" And that was the last time anyone said anything and I had a dream with her or anyone else dead in it.

I lucid dream nearly every night and I wake up laughing on an endorphin rush. It's fucking great. No matter how out there though (and some of them are WAY out there), they're just the brain doing it's thing. At least, that's what makes the most sense.

First of all, I'm the type of guy who doesn't believe this kind of crap (ghost/paranormal) but I had a ghostly experience once. My sister used to have this tiny 12lbs dog that's mixed with chihuahua and something else (except it's not the annoying barking one). For some reason the dog loves me to death compare to anyone else and I ended up adopting her from my sister when she moved. Well several years later I had to put her down due to old age. We were at the vet office and I held her in my arm as they inject her. I swear to god (figuretively) as i'm not the religious type but as she goes to sleep, I feel this electrifying current/tingling feeling flowing from the bottom of my feet to the top of my head. It's like I could feel her soul leaving her body

I was on pre deployment leave during christmas, my grandpa who lived in new orleans, was dying at the time, and on hospice and I went and visited him on his last few days. I spent a few days with family there and grandpa was mostly in and out of consciousness, and I still needed to say goodbye to friends and family at home. (never know what deployments have in store), needed to head back to st.louis. We all said our good byes to him. My dad, sister and me headed back to STL on christmas eve, while my mom stayed in new orleans. We got back to STL that night and everyone else went to bed. (i was still on odd hours since i was stationed in germany). So i stayed up and watched tv until i fell asleep on the couch. While i was asleep I had a dream of grandpa coming to me and saying goodbye, i woke up quickly and and looked around. I was curious what time it was so checked my phone for the time and it was a little after 4am. I didnt think much of it and went to bed.
Mom calls around 7am. I cheerfully said "merry christmas" right off the bat. She didnt acknowledge me and replied, that my grandpa had passed at 4am. IDK if it was a coincidence to dream that or something more. The timing was eerily convenient though. I will say it was rather comforting experience, and put my mind at ease over his death. My older sisters had a experience when they were young. Probably around the age of 7 or 8. One of them got up and to go pee in the middle of the night, and saw a old glowing lady in a blue dress walking down the hall towards them. She ran back the the room they both slept in and woke my other sister up. When they both saw the glowing lady come around the corner they hid underneath the blankets. Now, children do have wild imaginations, but the belief that they saw something is burned into them deep. When they told my dad in the morning, he promptly replied, that their great grandma was buried in a blue dress. IDK if its true as my dad likes to tell stories like that in a bigfish sort of way. They are now both in their 30s, and during thanksgiving last year after a few drinks got in a heated debate over just what they saw. My older sister has since become the non-believing type, while the younger one is still open minded. My younger sister forcefully started saying "you know what you saw! You saw it too"! My older sister replied "I dont know what i saw, i just believe there has to be scientific explanation". Now had my sister said. "I didnt see anything". It maybe would have raised some doubt in my mind. But the fact that this practically atheist woman, said she didnt know, reinforced that maybe there are things we just cant explain. Another interesting thing i experienced, isnt really a talking to the dead sort of thing but a good story. When i was seven we had this pet rabbit named joseph, who was dying of penis cancer or some shit. After i came home from playing with kids up the street it was obvious the little rabbit didnt have much time left. This was my first real experience with death so it was all rather new to me. After he died my dad made a little coffin for him and lined it with a towel, and told me to pick out a spot to bury him. I picked a spot near some bushes underneath a pine tree where we would always put him while i played in the mudpit. After we placed joseph in the box my dad and all us kids walked to where we were going to bury him. I shit you not, right where i chose to bury him, on the ground a giant moth was sitting right there and took off. I think ive only seen maybe 1 or 2 since than, and always when they were flying. My dad says that he was giving a eulogy for jospeh and mentioned something about butterflies and thats when the giant moth took off. Like i said before though, he likes to liven up stories, but i cant be certain. Im not really a religious person, but i will say that the event has made a lasting impact on me as to whether or not god exist. |

No ghost stories but something to do with strong connections to family. Back, before cell phones I could predict my dad was calling me at work.. I worked at a Napa auto parts store and of course the phone was always constantly ringing. Well a bunch of us guys would be just mulling around waiting to answer the phone or hopefully have a customer come in. When my dad would call into the store I could always tell it was him before the phone was answered and would yell it out before someone answered. Like it was a different ring. Freaked the manager out once and he thought I had staged a prank. I kept trying and got pretty good at it with all my family members. Like a built in caller ID.
A lot of times now I'll check my phone right as I get a message from my wife. Its like I pick up a signal. We may only text once or twice a day. I think we don't know everything about energy fields and the human body. The ring always seemed different to me. |

My dad is a vietnam vet and kind of a hardass. I try to speak with him at times about the after life and salvation.
He blew it off and told me about something that happened. Two of his buddies who were dead from his time in the service visited him. They were sitting on his couch telling him it's not so bad. Didn't know what to think. And he was wide awake when it happened. |
