Actually the dog was just fine.
It was one of the little yappy type dogs who curled up on a Springfield 1911 I had taken out of the holster and put on the bed so I could go hit the head.
The dog (who for some reason liked to curl up on inappropriate objects like the phone...) curled up with his rear end on the 1911 and his front end on the phone. Phone rings. Dog freaks and jumps. In so doing he kicked the trigger and BOOM.
That's also when I discovered that the plunger tube of my POS springfield had somehow been dented and the safety plunger spring was now stuck to the point where the thumb safety was flopping around loose.
The dog, aside from being shell-shocked, wasn't hurt.
The kitchen cabinets, on the other hand.....
