And the GOP is planning on doing just that. Do you think they are looking for Ronald Reagan II, someone who will sell freedom, free market capitalism. personal responsibility?? I doubt it.
My guess is they are are in the back rooms planning to run someone who is Obama Lite, promising entitlements and benefits and possibly citizenship of illegal immigrants. And I bet that it wont be enough to beat the Democrat candidate who will promise more free shit.

Unless the rumblings about why we lost start taking a different tone I think I'm right. And if I am, they are going to take us on a race to the bottom.

Or the party could stop alienating the voters in the middle that voted for NEITHER the Dems OR Republicans.

Why did the Republican party get almost exactly the same number of votes it got in 2008... and still lose DESPITE the Dems getting almost 6 MILLION fewer votes than they did 4 years ago?  

Where did those 6 million votes go?  Where did all the votes go from all the new potentially eligible voters go?  If the GOP can figure out the answer to those questions, they'll win in 2016.

We did do better....his name was Herman Cain and he has no issues with calling out the liberals for all the bullshit their party espouses.  You see what the party did to him.  Did you see the party rushing to defend the guy, all because he had an affair?  
Did you see monumental support for arguments against big government by Rand Paul?  How about Ron Paul?   How about plastering the news 24/7 with actual FACTS of voter fraud in Allen West's election?

When politically uniformed independents go out to vote they still remember Bush Jr and the recession, and well Romney kind of reminds those people as Bush 3 ,rich upper class, old, and possibly out of touch with them.

Romney couldnt seperate his image from the last four years of Bush.

Newt is a genius in some areas of assessment and political thought, but his reputation and image have relagated him to the political equivelent of MC Hammer.  He was great back in the day before he killed his carreer with poor decisions..

Like some others here, Romney wasnt my pick early on, but after he got the nod, I really started to like him.  I still dont think he's perfect, but I really wish he would have gotten in.  The more I listened to him, the more I was convinced that he was the only option to Obama that could have a shot at putting the brakes on the runaway train.  He's been successful and I really think he would have tried to surround himself with some of the smartest guys in the room.  I think he knew he had to get results and realized appointments had to go to doers not friends and IOU's.  He's come from a background of having to be good at what he did and be smart about who he worked with, but most importantly he knew how to close some deals and thats what this country needed.   I think he had a better grasp of foriegn affairs than Obama and he definately had a better grip on how to try to get the economy moving again.

The Republican party is losing voters who do not want more of the same old crap.
Many small government folks will simply not vote for big gov. types any longer.

If the Republican party does not get this through it's thick skull it will continue to lose.

Romney was a good, solid candidate.

He mopped the floor with Gingrich in the debates.

Romney lost, now we can support him as he keeps the boot to Obama's throat, and supports (financially and otherwise) future conservative candidates.

Palin went down in flames. Turned around, and kept the boot to liberal throats...

Gingrich is just jealous that it was Romney who first implemented the "mandate" that Gingrich originally wrote as a paid lobbyist for insurance companies...

Because they won.  And if both major parties do exactly the same as they did this election, they'll win next time too.
