Ergonomic keyboard/mouse/ giftcard to the ergonomic chair place.
a watch that only has the numbers 9 through 5 on it. Really bad ties.

A decent pen set. I did more writing as a Detective than I did in any other time in my career. Note taking at crime scenes, reports that were not typed(More than I care to remember) as well as signing everything.

Comfy Dress shoes (Cole Haans Zeros) bout $100. Wearing
Comfortable semi formal attire helps. Pens get lost easily. Nice Hydroflask to keep him hydrated. Even for desk jockeys. Small briefcase Tumi ballistic material if you can find one on sale! Maybe a nice In the waistband holster. Kind of weird, but a nice cellphone holder for his Car (with charger), always taking calls on the go. And a small pack of depends as a gag. |

I cannot tell you how much this has saved me when i started as a detective. I know at my agency, we still record interviews and stuff on the road via phone app |

When I was running a small Detective division, every new Detective would get a copy of this placed on their desk. Just a fun thing to keep the spirit light. It will teach them right.
