soon our cheerleaders will be like our stewardesses are today, with post-menopausal heavy-set broads & flaming gay dudes hired for the job due to disparate impact on protected classes.

Courts have long upheld discrimination based on "looks" for things like modeling and hiring actors. Why would the fact that cheerleaders had to maintain a certain physical fitness level be a shock?

So the crux of this argument is that they were underpaid, by not being paid minimum wage by the Bills. They're using the fact that they were objectified as headline material to garner sympathy.
Nobody works 100% as a cheerleader, in fact, most lose money doing it. They were free to waltz away any time they felt. |

So what? They're not solving differential equations. If they want to believe they're being hired for something other than their looks, they're fools.
That said, the NFL teams really needs to start treating their employees properly. Those women are part of a group that earns tens of millions of dollars for the owners. Pay them better than minimum wage, you cheap bastards. |

Most are professional dancers.
My best friend growing up had an older sister who was a cheerleader in the NFL, but she also would dance for cruise ships and other theatrical productions. Being the cheerleader got her the other jobs. |
