My daily carry is a full size Nighthawk and I'm thinking about getting something cheaper like a railed Springfield Operator

The cherry's knocked off it, it's broke in, and it's what you're used to.  Provided you're reasonably careful, it should provide you with service for the rest of your natural life and beyond.  Carry what you like, but I'm not seeing it.

Not a chance in hell I'd retire my old Colt and strap on a RIA.
Each to their own I reckon.

Why?
You paid for it.
Use it.

Use it until it's a pile of junk. You bought it; if it runs (Colt had some QC problems in that era) and is accurate, I would definitily use it until it was literally too fragile to use.

Who cares what the external value is? It's not like Colt only made 5 of them and you got one; tens of thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) were made. It's not rare.

So, when are you getting a Glock to replace her?

This post did not go the way the OP intended.

In all honestly, your gun isn't worth that much, and if it is a serviceable pistol you certainly aren't doing yourself any favors by carring a lesser pistol that is unknown to you.

If you really care about the value, take one of those suckers for the $1200 they are willing to offer you and be done with it.

$20 says that is just "gunshop talk" and they aren't actually offering to buy the pistol.

the only safe queens I would have would be new in box or mint.

and even if it were a semi auto i'd still probably shoot it

guns are meant to be carried and shot

Dang the gun shop commado's have been offering me $1200 to $1300.

Left alone what the fun show people have offered, oh wait, I would have killed a hundred Hadji's , and doctored the papers.

You've actually been offered that much? If so, sell it and buy an NIB one for $800/$900.

Hey send the links, I will buy two at that price. with the documents.

Imagine how confused I was, reading through this thread, thinking that RIA was Rock River Arms.
