I'm certain they will be greatly appreciated.  We will have people at the funeral.  I just found out about it, so I can't get off.  I'm sure his family will be truely impressed with the response from the board.  I'm going to make sure they know about the thread at the shop.  I have to work a football game tomorrow night so I won't get home until 2200hrs tomorrow night.  Thanks for all the wishes.

BK, I agree he was one of the heros, I've always had tremendous respect for the Vietnam Vets, (my father was one), and I do what I can to show it when possible.

John AKA Full-clip IIRC passed away from pancreatic cancer.  He was a great guy, would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  Vietnam Vet, a true patriot!  He will be missed.  This happened VERY suddenly, rapid weight loss etc....  May God rest his soul!  And he got to see the AWB go away.

I work in an oncology unit and we call pancreatic cancer the Good Guy Cancer since it seems to only hit the nicest and best people.

RIP and my prayers are for him & his family.

My grandmother was one of the sweetest ladies in the world, and that crap took her down really quick.
Even though I don't work oncology, I've had several patients with it and other forms of cancer. I hope there's a cure for it in my lifetime.
RIP John

I offer my condolences.

I am so saddened to hear his story.

Cancer has surely become the plague of the 20-21st Centuries.

God be with our friend and with his family!

Yes, I have been extremely busy because of it. My mother is ill for the 3rd time with it. This time is the worse. She seems to be getting better which is good and we continue to pray.

The first time (around 1993-94) was just chemo, a year ago March she has a mastectomy and now she has it in her chest, neck and 3 small spots on the back of her brain. She has undergone chemo (2-3x dosage) and radiation. They decided to fight it aggressively.

She has been weak and sometime could not walk. She was hospitalized for a week because her white blood cell count was 11. She was also suffering from delusions for a while. The spots on the back of her brain affect her balance and she needs a support to walk without falling. The intend to do an implant to stabilize the spots.

I urge anyone who has unusual pain (her seemed like artritis (?sp)) to at least have an exam and if it is something persistant have a MRI or cat scan. They thought hers was arthritis at first.

I think because of all of the chemicals, etc that we are now exposed to cancer is on the rise. Its not to be taken lightly
