Winston Chuchill once said:(this isn't an exact quote) When you were younger, if you weren't a liberal, you had no heart. When you are older, if you aren't a conservitive, you have no brain.

This said, I am the most heartless bastard on the face of the earth!!!!!!![marines]

I most closely hold to the views expressed by RikWriter, with two additions. I am personally very conservative, with the concept of the Framers' in mind (I won't shove it down your throat, you don't shove it down mine), and I am for the IMMEDIATE withdrawl of the US from the United Nations and all of their meddling.

Don Out.

Deffinantely to the Right.  I belive in personal freedom and Liberty to its extreme, so as long as you aren't hurting others.  I think the constitution is a great document and should be interpreted just as it reads.  From a broad perspective though, I would be probably far to the right.

To self-proclaimed "moderates":

In today's political spectrum...John McCain is a moderate; Joseph Leiberman is a moderate.

Hi, Big Bear.

Yeah, when I saw the "feel" word in there, I felt myself shrinking (like Fred Flintstone).  Too late to change it.  I both think and feel conservative.

The conversation that caused him to label me a liberal went like this.

Me,"I just want Ben Laudenum killed, along with his terrorist apparatus..."

Him, "No, we will have to kill a heck of a lot of people over there, including many innocents (Tough Sh-- for Afghanistan).. We must nuke their country..."

Me, "Well, I still pretty much just want Ben L. assasinated along with his evil buddies, but not the whole country bombed..."

This was early on when it wasn't very clear just who and how many people needed killing.

It just seems like a robbery to me for some bystander to be blown up in Afghanistan, if he had nothing to do with our WTC.  Maybe I am too soft on those people.  I guess I am saying I only want the "guilty" to die in this war, and war doesn't work like that. Very disillusioning for me.

My bud just wanted us to nuke everyone in Afghanistan. I wanted the bodycount to be smaller.

Put this question on a scale of 1 to 10, I would say I'm around an 8.5. I believe that the 2nd Amendment should have been the 1st Amendment.

Eramus:

I'm a firm believer in "High Body Counts", I believe, that if all you have, are "Body Parts", then you must count, each part, as a complete body for the record.

Estimates are also accepted.

Wishful thinking is also accepted.

Any "Civilian" killed by "Collateral Damage" can be multiplied by 3 and counted along with the actual combatants. They are to be identified as "Enemy Infiltrators" of "High Ranking Officers" that were dressed in "Civilian Clothes".

In "Vietnam" we were not allowed to count "Water Buffalo, Duck's or Pigs".

In Afghanistan I think that "Goats and Camels" should be counted.

I am not right wing. In fact I despise fascism.  I believe in freedom and liberty. I believe in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  I am pro- choice.  I support Consitutional guarantees of free speech, free association, and the freedom to practice your relgion.  I also believe that an individual has a right to privacy (obviously).

So no, I am not "right wing."  That said, I do believe that the 1968 GCA should be repealed (along with the 86 ban on machine guns, the 89 AW ban, and the Criminal Bill).

[:D]facism is not right-wing, but left-wing. the "facism is right-wing" is an invention of the left so's you have no place to go. where would ture anarchy fit in? (the only real right-wing extreme) you cant have a totaltarian big government and the absence of it on the same side of the political spectrum.

i do not support anarchy (no govt) so i am not a right-wing extremist. i am to the left of the "far" right. a constituitonal Republic exists there.

check out older political science books. they'll have the old school political spectrum in 'em. sorry i cant recommend a particular book off hand, but a web search may help as well as several articles on the subject.

Really fellas,  none of these comparisons are accurate.  The terms right and left wing are thought to originate from the French National Assembly of 1789.  The "radicals" sat to the left of the speaker, and the "conservatives" to the right.  Our use of the terms to describe various political ideologies is only relevant when compared to the Frogs in 1789.

I'm just a dumb-ass that cannot understand the difference between left wing dictator and and a right wing dictator.
What was the difference between Mao and Stalin ??????

So far as my personal politics. I am hopefully a member of "The vast right-wing conspiracy" first mentioned by Hillary that caused "Slick Willie" to have sex with that woman Monica....

I personally find the terms 'left wing' and 'right wing' as useless terms left over from the seating arrangements of the Estates General during the initial period of the French Revolution!

The media love the idea that Hitler is at one end of the political spectrum and Stalin is at the other! It makes them feel soooo comfortable in the 'middle.' But they're not in the middle, are they?

But what was the real differences between the National Socialism of Hitler and the International Socialism of Stalin and Mao?Of course, as a side note, there was never anything remotely 'international' about either the Soviet experiment in communism, nor the Chinese on-going experiment in communism. Both Stalin and Mao pursued international policies that would have made Catherine the Great and Ghengis Khan proud of their offspring!

The Political Spectrum should run the gamut from pure anarchy on the one end to pure  dictatorship on the other. Simple? Yes!

I am much, much closer to 'pure anarchy' on this scale, since I always trust the people a whole lot more than I trust the government!

What was is that Jefferson (a closet anarchist if ever there was one, read his views on the French Revolution 'if there were but two living souls left to begin again the French race, I would be content') said - 'If given a choice between government and no newspapers and newspapers and no government, I would not hesitate to choose the latter.'

Well, same here! We just need better newspapers!

But I live, eat, drink and vote Republican! Because that party is (1) closest to my political views, and, most importantly, (2) can win a general election (if they feel like it).

I'm a rightwinger with libertarian leanings(with the exception of unfair(NAFTA GATT CARA)
trade and land use laws.

The republicrat party is a wedge used to divide the people.
