Like the things you pirate? You didn't purchase those, friend. You approve of the price offered by purchasing it, disapprove by going without. Simple. That's how reasonable citizens do business.

I have just as much grounds for arguing that prices are too high as people complain about gas, health care, etc.

Argue all you want. Those are just words. But use force, or theft to acquire something illegally because you merely want it, we have a problem.

Socialism.. wow... give up on it...

I did, long ago. Now it's your turn, junior.

Copying is legal for personal use.
I'll bet you think libraries are pirate dens, don't you?

Yeah, IF you ALREADY OWN the work in question, under the fair use doctrine.  It certainly doesn't entitle you to make copies of stuff you don't own.

BTW, I don't think I've heard a more DU sounding argument here in 2 years.  Well done, GrH_Revelation!

Really... kind of like... you endorse your government by supporting it and you show your displeasure for it by... doing nothing. GOOD POINT!!

And no... we don't have a problem. Unless you or you can orchestrate people or agencies to force me and the rest of the pirating community to stop pirating, we don't have a problem. Force is the arbiter of all things, not cooperation, democracy, etc. You can't stop it... so you will live with it.

GRH, Wise up. And stop whining when people find your theft offensive.

Using big words to justify your position doesn't make you more respectable.

Semantics be damned, if you do not buy the DVD, you have greedily stole $10. I'm not talking about the "media it came on". You would've spent that money on the product if you didn't have the capacity to get it for free. And that sucks.

And I'm off topic. Sorry. I'll be picking up the DVD tommorrow or the next day, the reviews from people on this board make me anticipate it greatly.

Thievery... ? This from the same individuals whose nation was built upon rum-runners, privateers, and smugglers. This comes from the same individuals that purposely exceed the speed limit and yet don't argue this offense because "everyone" does it. This coming from the same individuals that will take a tax exemption wherever offered. I don't mean to propose that America is not the greatest nation in the world, but let's not be foolish. What makes certain offenses acceptable and others uncacceptable. The welfare of the plurality. As long as there are a plurality of individuals that oppose "pirating" products because they are either impotent to protect themselves from it, having a conflict of principles, or ignorant of how to effectively utilize and implement "pirating", there will laws against it. However, when there are enough individuals to advocate the distribution of "pirated" products, there will be no enforcement of the law. A law, contract, is only effective as long as both parties subscribe to the logic of the contract or are afraid of the consequences of violating it. Relativity doesn't make an action or life-style absolutely just, however, it does make acceptable.

And what are you going to do? Come to my house and confiscate all my suspected pirated files?

Besides, if you did... who's to say that I wouldn't take 1000s of feds down with me when I expose all the IPs that my tracker is being accessed by?

That is one of the weakest, most nonsensical retorts that has ever been shat my way. Bravo! I will have to remember it.

And no... we don't have a problem. Unless you or you can orchestrate people or agencies to force me and the rest of the pirating community to stop pirating, we don't have a problem.

Ah, let the thugs keep what they steal, and keep them happy. I get it.

Next time you are wronged, I guess you wont be appealing to anyone else - police or courts -  for redress. Suit yourself.

Force is the arbiter of all things, not cooperation, democracy, etc. You can't stop it... so you will live with it.

Let me guess, you just downloaded 'Starship Troopers.'

Fine, keep stealing. Nice to see you at least admitting, finally, that's what you're doing.

But if you have the balls to believe the righteousness of your delusions, go knock off a bank, tough guy. Just use some good 'ole force to get some quick cash. It's okay. Really!

Then, another use of force will put you in prison, where you will proceed to be traded for a pack of cigarettes, and summarily ass-reamed. Don't complain about that, now.

You know, force and all.

(an aside: I hope for your sake, you're the biggest guy on the block, and not some Mr. Punyverse in an Atari t-shirt who gets all ornery behind a keyboard. But I have my doubts.)

But I guess I was wrong. You're a righteous anarchist now - not a socialist. Your shifting ideolology is amusing, and I'll thank you for that. Kind of like talking to someone with a headwound.

LoL... "Visions of grandeur..."? Bit Torrent is the most widely used P2P network in the world. I will put my life on the line that there are atleast 1000 fed employees that use Bit Torrent to share files.

to the :

You have no idea what you are saying. You're sentence fragments fail to convey any point that you may have. Also, "force" and "violence" are two very different entities. However, your lack of understanding fot those entities is amusing. Force is the act of making someone stop doing something. Violence is the physical interdiction of force to stop someone from doing something.

NOTE: Your extreme use of animation makes you look like, to me, a total douche. If you can't convey your ideas in words, dont express them at all.

Surrender your Windows OS because the Windows GUI was "stole" from Macintosh during the "Prometheus Project".

Actually the GUI design was originally developed by Xerox, so they all stole it from Xerox....

Actually it was designed by Apple.... Once Apple started to decline, a group of individuals took the Source Code for the OS and distributed it to anyone that would take it. They coined themselves the "Prometheus Project" because they saw themselves as letting Apple live on through other companies.  Microsoft and others picked up on the idea and ran with it.
