A stainless Ruger revolver is fine if you fall in the water, and would probably be ideal for that.

Or carry a few slugs in a vest pocket to load quickly just in case.

We have hunter harassment laws here.

Aside from being charged for shooting at someone he would be slapped with a harassment charge as well.

I wouldn't call the PD, I would have called the DEC, the officers around here would not have taken kindly to that kind of behavior.

Good reason to use an AR15 as a hunting rifle.

fucking blue states.

in Florida the charges would be:

Assault with a  Deadly Weapon
Discharging a firearm in commission of a Felony
Trespassing while armed
and Harassing a Hunter

not only are all 4 felonies the discharging of the gun would net him and EXTRA 20 years in prison.

I always carry a sidearm when I am bow hunting.  I spend way too much time running off poachers and I want to make sure that any bullets sent in my direction will be replied to in kind.

Never thought about crazy peta types, but nothing surprises me anymore.

Why don't these retards go shoot at animals that attack other animals? Don't they realize the precious animals they try to protect are killers? What about the plants?

Aaaallll aboard the Mental Evaluation® gravy train!

Yeah.

Why shucks, that would never come back to bite a bunch of people in the ass. Neeeever happen. It's even sillier to think the people doing the "evaluating" might have an agenda. Ha-ha! Storybook nonsense!

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-03-20/duck-hunt-protester-shot-in-face/2651454

The 43-year-old St Kilda woman was taken to hospital in a stable condition with facial injuries after being hurt at Lake Buloke near Donald in the state's north-west about 9:00am (AEDT) on Saturday.

Police say the shooter was a 14-year-old boy who accidentally hit the woman while hunting with his uncle.

The firearm has been seized and the exact circumstances of the shooting are being investigated.

The Coalition Against Duck Shooting's Kurt Opray says the woman was trying to help injured birds.

"She was just in the water seeking to scare birds away from the shooters and render assistance to birds that have hit the water," he said.

I picked up mine last Tuesday. G20 for the express purpose of open carry SD while hunting and finishing shots on hogs.  God forbid I fuck up bad enough to need it to finish a deer, using that will be safer than a rifle at contact distance.

Count me as another who always carries a handgun no matter what I'm hunting and when bird hunting I usually have a round or two of something heavier than 7 1/2s or 8s in my vest.
