What's worse is that the goddamn media keeps portraying this as a fight between the Russians and "separatists" or "rebels" and not that it is scum sucking MURDERING MUSLIM TERRORISTS doing this.
Is isn't worse than 911 to me. But it's up there. I'm sickened and when, not if, it happens here, may God have mercy on our souls for what we do to the muslims. |
Worse? No. This is just a different magnitude of SUCK than 9/11 was. What makes us so angry is that we know it can happen in our schools, and there aint much we can do about it. |
This man speaks the truth. |
and if it happened in the USA, it would have been in a gun-free school zone.....damn stupid anti-gun laws
If it happened in the US, we would think it was worse than 9/11. We have a common enemy with Russia. This is an attack on us, as civilized humans, as well. |
nope Emotionally? maybe. But going by facts and hard evidence which we all know is more important than emaotion? Hell no.
Over thousands lost their lives on sept,11th 2001. We saw people jump out of skyscrapers to keep from burning alive. How many hundreds of people were burned to a crisp in those buildings? An entire section of the pentagon was DESTROYED. Both world trade towers collapsed. Passengers on an inbound plane had to make a choice that would almost definately lead to their deaths so that they could save so many more. Maybe its that its been a while for us all and the attrocities of that day have faded some. But pound for pound sept 11th 2001 was a much more horrible day than this. |
I feel sick from this. I watched about 1/2 hour of the CSPAN feed from Russia... Sick. Sick. I don't have better words for this. I feel for them... and I think to myself "what if this happened here?"
Just ... sick. At least on 9/11 most of the people were adults... they had dreams, etc., but they'd lived life... Those kids should be playing and not caring about a thing... instead some are dead, some recovering from shrapnel or gunshot wounds from terrorists. That's part of that social contract SteyrAUG mentioned. We owe it to our kids (our kids... all kids) to protect them from the wolves. By the way, why can't the world call a terrorist a terrorist? We can't even call them what they are, let alone develop the national resolve (Arfcom excluded) to do what needs to be done. |
I am so fucking sick of the leftist apologists in the media today for continuing to hide the truth about who is behind all these attacks.
For those of you who, like me, are parents - What would you do if your child was murdered by terrorists like those childred were in Russia? Could you imagine anything more horrible?
I think I'd fucking lose it. Vengence would most certainly be mine. |
Sadly, it's shaping up to be our generation's evil burden. Nazi's and WWII then Communism and the Cold (Hot) War we get Islamo-fascism and the Age of Terror. Lucky us. |

There is a difference between a strategic offensive and a tactical offensive. The Tactical offensive targets weapon systems and fighting forces, the strategic offensive targets the populace and their will to fight.
If you want to read accounts of true suffering in the USA, read some of the local history (not the sanitized BS as recorded by the gov't) of what Sherman did to the south and the non-military people there. His belief was to break the will to fight by attacking the homefront and the population. "Modern" thinking is wars should be fought only between combatants (tactical warfare) , and then using only technology, not blood. Problem is, it is not the only way to wage war. I am not trying to legitimize the terrorists, just looking at their tactics from an historic point of view. Yes, what these murdering scum did will cause them to burn in hell for all eternity, but they certainly will not be alone. |
+1 I can't wait to see what the Russians do about this. If I were to catch one or all of the animals responsible for this atrocity I would "get medievil" on all of them. Blow torches and pliers come to mind. There is absolutely no punishment that could be drawn out on these animals that I would consider to harsh or inhumane. Make their deaths as slow and painful as possible. |

I fucking hate people who do things like that. Children are innocent and helpless. Those scum and the people who support them need to die right now.
In a sense it is worse. Unlike a school the WTC had economic value, and the Pentagon had military value. Also the hijackers could not see the people in the buildings. Attacking a school and killing children up close and personal like that is just abomidable.

Maybe this will make it to post before this thread gets locked too, and I lose what I typed previously.
I just finished surfing Middle East and Euro web sites. There was some "official" condemnation from Egypt, Iranian and Lebanese clerics, but almost no mention of arab presence in the Chechan attack. Some Euro outlets are placing greater blame on Russia for their prosecution of the Chechan War, rather than report on the present situation. Many press outlets seem to be ignoring the elephant in the room.

They apparently captured a few, and are currently "interrogating them" <--- note, I'm not amused, but I am laughing at the horrible things that are no doubt happening to those bastards right now! I'm guessing that some will NOT survive those interrogations, and those that survive are going to wish they hadn't. |

too bad they weren't more successful... |

It is difficult to draw a distinction between these degrees of barbarity. Certainly we lost more people and economic value than the Russians did this day. However, I can see that the WTC and Pentagon might be seen as legitimate military targets. The Pentagon for obvious reasons and the WTC for its impact on our economic ability to make war or the perception of same. Despicable none the less. The deliberate and specific targeting of children is over the top. No civilized people make war in such a manner. It is understood that in unrestricted warfare, that sometimes children and non combatants might be killed or injured. We call it collateral damage and we do not do it intentionally. These savages devised a plan, and then carried out that plan, with the deliberate intention of killing helpless children. They changed the rules and the cowards will not fight like men. I have never been one prone to bigotry or stereotyping anyone, but these are not people, they are savages. I fear it is coming here. Let us hope that our internal security forces are training for just such a scenario, and that our external security forces continue their so far excellent job of keeping it from our shores. I truly think that the enemies lack of success since 9/11 has been no accident. They are instead hitting what they believe to be soft targets in other nations.

I disagree. Logically there is nothing diferent in shooting an infant in the head to shooting a grown man. Both are dead and both were killed the same way. Yet I am not Mr. Spock, somehow it IS worse, lower, more barbaric to murder a child. It IS worse to rape a child. I can't rank one over the other. All I know is upon seeing the pictures and images of dead babies, and toddlers, I felt the same pain in my chest I felt when I saw a flaming woman leap from the towers in 9/11. Somehow torturing and killing children who have done nothing to harm a soul in this world just makes the people involved a notch lower and more deserving of whatever pain the Russians can deal out to them. If they'd give me a license... I'd get on a plane today to help with that. |

What was the name of the school in Israel that was taken over by terrorists? This was in the 60’s I believe. Maybe the 1970’s.
In other words, it has happened before. |
From the Jerusalem Post: Israel and Israelis are no strangers to the predicament imposed by the terrorists, believed to from Chechnya, on Russian President Vladimir Putin and the authorities. The Ma'alot massacre in May 1974, in which 26 Israelis, many of them children, were killed and scores wounded, is a case in point. A terrorist squad from the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine infiltrated Israel from Lebanon and reached Ma'alot in the heart of the Galilee. The aim of the terrorists was take hostages and negotiate the release of Palestinians held by Israel. They raided a house and killed the inhabitants, then took over a school where a group of children on an annual outing happened to be sleeping over with their teacher and parent escorts. Negotiations were initiated but then members of an elite Golani Brigade unit stormed the premises and killed all the terrorists, but not before the latter had detonated explosive devices and killed or wounded many of their hostages. "This was, perhaps, one of the first occasions of kidnappers who were also suicide bombers and who announced their intentions beforehand, very similar to the situation now in Ossetia," Ganor told The Jerusalem Post. |

I have heard the Palistineans used to target Isreali schools-until the teachers were armed.

I answered this exact question in an earlier thread that has since been locked because of posts like mine. I was slapped on the hand for my indiscretion and took my punishment like a man, and will refrain from any more of that type of posting. I fully understand and agree with what you are thinking, but it is best left there, this IS a community made up of people from all walks of life, and many of the people here are far wiser than myself, and it seems they have prevailed and gotten the out of control emotional discussion back under control, it is best to keep it that way. |

I'm an American, so to me it is not worse than 9/11.
If this happened in America, it would be worse than 9/11. It is certainly a very horrible and barbaric thing. |
Worse...no. Just the same. The Islamofacists can't win a stand up fight so they use terrorism to try to accomplish their goals. They've been murdering Israeli children for decades...this is no different. They would do it here given the chance.
Thank God for George Bush, his staff and our armed forces. They are the reason the terrorists haven't [yet?] attacked one of our schools in the same manner. I hope the Russians kill them all...very painfully. Nothing quick or painless please. |

Think about how pissed off we are about this. Talk has rumored about wiping all Muslims of the face of the planet. Now think if you were the parent of a child in this incident. You think we're outraged?
I would be COMPLETELY unsurprised if there was a Russian parent in the news a few days from now that walked into a mosque with a few 30 rd mags and an AK47 and just started waxing people. I think Putin will have similar thoughts, he just has a military to do it on a slightly larger scale. I foresee some new craters in Chechnia. I would not want to be a muslim in Russia right now. I imagine it would be very hazardous to your health. |

Oh say can you see???? Cuz I cant see shit. Pentagon, yes. Hell yes. And my Big Brother was in the Pentagon on 9/11. I got a call from Mom he was ok at 1635EST. He walked home, alive, thank the Lord. He wasnt dead, not because they didnt try and kill him, because it wasnt his day. They did indeed try and kill my big Brother at work. But we both agreed, legitimate .mil target. Fine. No problem. WTC. I do not fucking think so. We are Americans. We will whip out the Visa if we have to, to make war on your ass. There is no way in hell it is anything but a civilian target. Period. |

Not better;not worse. Just a different place and a different time. There is little or no need to get excited; just hunt down the perpetrators and give them a fair trial. Then execute them. It is really a simple matter. |
