I am considering becoming an armed law abiding citizen on Monday. I have never even held a gun in my hands, but I am considering buying a fully automatic weapon and a cache of ammunition.

Does that scare rightwingers? It should.

This is not entirely true. I have dealt with three workplace violence (minor) issues in the past 8 years. All three were died in the wool liberal gun haters that flipped out and got violent. Two of the episodes involved my direct intervention. None of the episodes involved weapons other than a computer keyboard (thank god!).

It is my belief that anti gun people want guns banned because they fear everyone else is as unstable as they are, or would be, with a firearm.

Some of these people are truly on the ragged edge of self control, and are quite capable of violence.

So there really is no downside to them having guns? I just hope the DU version of the liberals have better taste in guns than the local verion, around here the "liberals" have a tendency to buy Ravens and Lorcins in .22 and .25, however they can often be persuaded to buy a higher quality firearm, such as a TEC9 if it has been gold or chrome plated. If they buy the same guns as there comrades who already have guns it probably won't raise thier suicide rate, it is hard to kill yourself with a jammed gun.
