I'm cheap. I keep waiting for a good deal and they continue to go up in price.

That is just wrong. |

First rifle I ever bought back in 1974, paid 76.00 for it. A few years ago i put a Hoague stock, Butler Creek heavy barrel, VQ trigger kit, new extractor, I think that's about it. Other than that it's stock.. |
|
OK, OK. What is this running joke thing with the ".22 and a .38" I am totally out of the loop on this. I see this referenced in almost ever forum here.
Someone please explain. Thanks. |

Over the years I've owned dozens of them. Full benchrest, sporter etc. I'm down to one which is a Deluxe with many internal mods that shoots 3/4 MOA with iron sights.

I just bought one of the new compacts. It has a 16" barrel and the stock is slightly shorter. It fits my 10 yr old son great and it's not too short for me to shoot too. I got it thinking I would put a Choate folder on it to carry in the Jeep. But it's such a handy little gun like it is, I think I'll just leave it alone.

OK.... why? |

You're supposed to post a pic of your gun, not just a tree |
|

That is simply stored. Shoot my other rifles much more often. edit: Real reason: because I can |

I bought a Marlin model 60 for $48.oo brand new many years ago. (Sears I think)
I wore that thing out literally. Under the influence of this board I bought a 10-22 I had to send it back because it would fail to fire often. ( the dent on the rim of the shell was barely visable when the pin dropped) Ruger gave me a new barrel and made it right. I bought my wife a Marlin model 60 (her first gun ever at 50yrs old) That girl can out shoot me all day long with that thing. But my 10-22 trigger is leaps and bounds above her Marlin 60. She compensates by pulling the old "Butch Casidy" can I move when I shoot? They really need to combine these two 22's for the ultimate. GM |

+1 And I'm serious. I really do own a 10/22 and a .38. Actually it's two 10/22's, a 1978 vintage carbine with walnut stock and a mid-90's rebuilt into a heavy barreled target type and a Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag. That's an old model Blackhawk. I love the thing. |

Got a pair of Sears and Roebuck .22LR rifles. Think they were made by Marlin?
|
|
Had a 10/22, great rifle, but sold it a few years ago to finance another firearm...
Recently got a Winchester lever-action 22 and really like it... |

I've got a 'deluxe' checkered, walnut stocked 10/22 that was the first gun I ever bought. Got it in about 1970. Just last month I took off the stoopid plastic Ramline stock its been in for about the last 10 years & put back on the wood stock and the Weaver 4K I bought with the rifle.
Went to the local range, dialed it in dead-nuts on at 50 yards & then across the road to some private land I had permission to hunt. Brought home 6 bunnies. What fun these things are to shoot! (Yeah...the rabbits and the 10/22.) Today, I met our new, local Asst. District Atty at the range. He's former Nebr. State Patrol & into the NFA stuff. He let me dump a mag through his two stamp 10/22...full auto and suppressed. That was a kick. He was having trouble with his Bobcat MP5 clone (class III) so, given the choice, I also dumped a mag through his class III M-16. A good day. |

I'm a bit confused. I admit to owning several Rugers including a 10/22, I just don't understand everyone beating up Ruger owners, and then owning one.
|
|
As long as it doesn't shoot 223, all is fine in Rugerland, I guess (just don't mention Mini)... |
|
|
Nice pic, not sure why the triangle measuring thingy is in it though |
|
|
I thought everyone kept a speed square with his 10/22. |

10/22 put on a nice 6-24 scope on it (mildot of course) with aftermarket bolt hold open and mag drop, new barrel this week.
also PPS50, a winchester model 90 and a clone of same, Ithaca model 72 saddle gun (to be opicked up on MOnday) a tube fed semia tuo of soem flavour or other, and an old Wincehster bolt action that is also tube fed, but is not shootable at this juncture in time. I like .22 rifles, might pick up a revovling carbine in a week or two |

Im glad I posted this thread...some great rifles guys!
I always take a look at mine and think wow, this is a great target rifle....then I look at some of the other pics y'all post and get tons of ideas for new rifles. Some great stuff here. Heres a thought.....a ARFCOM 10/22 gathering somewhere....a bunch of us get together for a shoot...pretty bring whatever, but the point would be to have a 10/22 with us. Everything from stock to tricked out custom....I would be up for a road trip! |

I've had three 10/22s over the years and none of them ran that great when clean but all worked fine when dirty, never understood that. Now my main 22 is a 77/22, it works all the time
|
|
Two for me and I have one still new in the box for my son for when he's old enough to take take of it (and hold the thing!).
I bought it for his 2nd birthday because I think every kid should have a .22. |
|
Yes, before the tragic boating accident, I had a 10/22 all pimped up in a Fajen stock with a heavy barrel
For other .22s, also had: Rem 542 Rem 541-X H&R M12 Mossberg M144 |
|
i feel so.... wrong. i dont have a 10/22, and it's not even on my "to buy" list
am I a bad person (for this, i realize i am bad for other reasons) |

I was wondering about the folks that posted that they do not own any .22 cal rifles. Guess they have their ARs chambered for other ammo.
I have only one 10/22, totally stock, base model, paid $78.95 for it new many moons ago. The thing is a tack driver out to 40-50 yds. I've been looking for a shorter stock so my young'un can learn to shoot with it. I also own a new Marlin lever action .22LR, an old Remington from the '20s and two Winchester pumps from the WWI era. They were all my plinkers at some point in time (some were my father/grandfather's plinkers) but now I pretty much use my AR for plinking |
