My parents are from Ireland, so we grew up drinking tea. Lipton tea and milk. When I was 12 and started working in a chinese restaraunt chopping onions and making egg rolls, I discovered REAL TEA!
I became more of a coffee drinker when I joined the Corps, but still like tea once in a while: Dragon Oolong, Green Tea, oh and if you have a Teavana close by, I reccomend the White Samurai Chai! |
|
I'll drink tea in the evening or while camping, usually more for the warmth than anything else. Not very foo-foo about it, just a bag of Lipton in a cup of hot water, maybe a squeeze of lemon.

Once they freed themselves of Tea drinking gayness we were able to drink coffee as God intended. Says the self professed Porch Honkey. Thanks for the insights. GD what did you expect? Do you wear a turtle neck, Birkenstocks and read the New Yorker while drinking your tea?

Brewing a pot of freshly ground dark roast Sumatran as I write.
Mmmm.... Coffee, a warrior's' drink. |

If you want better tea, buy it loose leaf and use a teapot similar to the plastic teavana ones that strain the fine leaves out. I like Mate tea since it provides the same caffeine as coffee without the jitteryness that coffee causes making me shoot like shit. I also like other teas, but only drink loose leaf. Look at amazon for loose leaf. In other words if drinking something that doesn't cause the jitters and mess up my aim, then I'll take being called a girly man while the other guy drinks coffee and can't shoot worth a shit.

I like tea, prefer Oolong, Darjeeling, Earl Grey, and lately, some green gunpowder tea. How could you not like a drink with "gunpowder" in the name?
But if it makes you feel better OP, you're a girly man. |

FIlthy-9er....You are a girly man.
Now log out and log back in. Told ya, I'd wait until you wouldn't expect it. Introduce yourself in the Team Clubhouse. |

OK, I switched from coffee to tea about 6 years ago. I think tea leaves a cleaner taste in my mouth.

1 'Big Dog' 15 oz mug of tea in the morning (usually a beld of Constant Comment Vanilla Chai and Vanilla Caramel - one bag of each in a 3-cup coffemaker)
1 normal 8 oz cup of tea, usually English Breakfast, at work around 10am 1 more 'Big Dog' 15 oz mug of tea for dinner - either the same blend as breakfast or straight-up English Breakfast Oh yeah, I definitely love me some hot tea with some milk and some sweetner |
|
Tea is awesome stuff. My favorite kind is whole leaf Oolong. If you have never had whole leaf tea you owe it to yourself to try it. It is completely different than the bagged stuff most of us see. Just make sure you use filtered or bottled water. All the wonderful flavors come out when the water is cleaner.

I will admit to helping the tea lovers out at work. I bring in Tea for the Keurig coffee/Tea maker.

Would Denis Leary approve of this thread?

Upton Tea Imports
Huge selection of tea from all around the world. Get yourself a real teapot and ditch the teabags. It's a million times better, trust me! Loose tea and teabags are like night and day. |

Tea is the drink of Patriots. I thought it was beer, ale, or rum. all that, and coffee, tea, be it Safeway Black or Lord Grey, 24/7, even in the summer. Maybe that explains the prostate and flatulence issues - but, I'm well-hydrated. |

Morse's Tea from Halifax NS is one of my favorites.Have not had it for years but I remember it coming loose or in gauze teabags. Canada does tea well.
Tried the Krups K cups but really a good tea ball 1/2 full of loose tea only costs about $.05 per cup or less. |

Real tea, made in a 'Tea Pot' is the only way to go. Teabags were invented by somebody who was in a hurry, just like instant coffee.
Hot buttered scones, with tea, in a tea cup, at 3.00pm thank you very much. And yes, pinkies may be elevated. |

Im enjoying some constant comment right now. Bigelow earl gray is my favorite how ever.
