Just what I always think. Let's turn everything into a safe thread or make ARF more like facebook.

Can't be a Vet. Dime a dozen and no need to grab one from the left coast. With flight, hotel and shipping you're in for 3k right there. So kinda rare. I'm a Viper guy, but you're not. So I doubt that's it, though they are rare enough, especially if looking for certain mods. No, you like the foreign stuff. Exposed to plenty locally... this one is special. I'm thinking Japanese.... maybe grey market model... Mitsubishi FTO View Quote The basic platform was a no-brainer. My first goal was to improve my personal protection in an off. If you aren't safe - what good is the rest? I wanted balance, not too many sensors, maintainability and the ability to do the conversion within my price point. It also needs to be a car that I'm willing to pull apart at some level and not sweat it too much. There are people that will start re-inventing a new Porsche GT4....I'm not one of them. Lastly - I don't want to spend my life wrenching on it and solving mystery problems or limping off track much. The fun/work/cost ratio needs to stay right. I see a lot of recent cars having problems with either sensor suite unhappiness or heat soak. Nope. I ended up in California more because the car was in the condition/price/color sweet spot that I wanted. I wanted a mostly unmodified, unmolested car with a written maintenance record. Maintenance means a lot to me - because higher-strung cars can hurt you with catch-up maintenance in the first few months. I kissed a lot of frogs along the way. There are a lot of flakey sellers out there. I learned to walk away as soon as I got the flakey seller first vibe. I can't over-emphasize the importance of a thorough PPI by a shop that knows that car's specific weaknesses. |

I'll go a bit off the wall...
Panoz Esperante of some flavor? |
|

The IRS on the yellow truck looks interesting.
And if it's not a Miata, rx8, e46, or corvette you chose poorly. |

I just keep trying to think of cars that I've seen in Grassroots Motorsports...
Next guess is some sort of Lotus Seven clone, followed by a Superformance (or similar) Cobra. |

So how does this go OP, will you give it up when someone hits the right note? You are driving all the gear heads InSaNe

You guys are going far afield with exotics. There are reasons you rarely (if ever) see such cars on a track. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

I was digging that set-up....with the roof that rises, cool elevating ramps etc. The driver was #1. Thats a helluva lot of driving though.

Oil analysis? It's an M3.
I used to have an e60 M5 ... OP you are smart for getting that done. |
|
E46 M3 or Porsche 951.
I've had both and a built 951 makes a hell of a track car. |
|
Last clues didn't register with my thick head, but let me toss out a few others...
Scion FR-S Nissan 350z Though I think we might be older than those. |
|
Mercedes AMG of some sort. SLS? Don't drive with your clown shoes on!
