I like how they always refer to gun control laws as "common sense." You would think that two so-called "educated" people would know enough to know they know nothing about a topic. So, it is literally impossible for them to have any "common sense" regarding said issue at all.

There is not much of a story here. We notice it and realize how wrong they are, but to most people, shells are shells.

It's not like that filmed a black guy open carrying and then called the guy open carrying a racist for being at a rally.

How do these people expect to have a discussion when they can't even speak intelligently about the devices they have such derision for?

I heard a liberal moron on Fox yesterday refer to the Glock 19 as a semi-automatic RIFLE.

ETA: Now that I've read the story.
They try to invoke John Lott's name in an attempt to appear "even tempered" because they know pro-Second Ammendment and RKBA people know and respect his work.
They call for a flat out ban, not a re-instatement of the 1994 ban.
Good luck with that, there haas to be 5x or more the number of magazines in circulation now that there were in 1994.

Observation: Since Congresswoman Giffords was the intended target, and she was the first one shot, what difference does it make what capacity magazine the shooter used?

I'm not surprised for I have been seeing it for decades.

For example, after 9-11, I saw a magazine at a check out stand about America's military. Four pictures on the cover for each branch.....only for the Navy one, it had a foreign ship with the hull number 47 on it.

During the 80's, in a German language news magazine, the caption under the picture said something about the US carrier (name) on its way to the Persian Gulf....and the carrier had A-1 Skyraiders on the deck.

Odds are, they pulled a picture they needed for their point from a file and provided it looks like it, it is good enough because often, who in the audience is going to know?

Make sure you don't read Frank Lautenberg's companion editorial. Apparently, the Glock 19 is the "weapon of choice" for madmen. I'm guessing there are a million or so "mad men" with uniforms and badges out there if that's the case.

How can they show that the shooter wouldn't have caused as many deaths with standard capacity magazines? In fact, it is my understanding that his hi-cap malfunctioned allowing him to be subdued. So, it's possible he would have shot even more people.

Also how do you define a "high capacity" magazine? The 30 round magazines for AR and other semi-auto rifles are included with the firearm. The PS90 was designed to accept a 50 round magazine, which is standard for it. A law that says anything over 10 rounds is high capacity is arbitrary and is as random as saying 12 rounds or 15 rounds in that it's just a number they pick out of thin air.

Not to mention that high capacity magazines are critical for home defense when an individual may face multiple armed intruders without the ability to have a spare magazine on their person under the circumstances.

We also know that there are millions of high capacity magazines already in the country so they would have to make possession of them illegal and we wouldn't have enough judges, prosecutors, jails, and prisons to handle the increase in criminal cases that would produce. If they didn't make possession illegal then criminals would still be able to secure high capacity magazines.

High capacity magazines in Mexico aren't legal, but they're everywhere. All you do by making something illegal is create a blackmarket for it as long as there is still demand for it. You would think this lesson would have been well illustrated by narcotics already to the liberals.
