i bought two greek rack grades. both guaged better than some of the service grades (one was hand selected by myself and a friend picked my second greek out for me with his gauges.). one has a nearly immaculate walnut stock and metal finish. both the receiver and bbl. are s.a. 1945.
the other rack doesn't look as perfect, has definitely been rebarreled, but does appear to be 100% s.a. parts. the finish is about 80% or so on this one.
it helps to live near camp perry!
profit margin???
it's 100% profit. the money is used to fund SHOOTING.
the garands are the bread and butter of the cmp program. they are making the most out of them while the supply lasts.
that money funds lots of programs, from safety to the national matches to junior smallbore programs to...well, go read the cmp website and see how your money is spent.
compare the $300 to $1400 (not counting the uber-collectible garands) the cmp gets to the prices on THE SAME CMP RIFLES that are laying on tables at the gun shows. the cmp is a DEAL.
