I was never a fan of the man but what he was convicted of seemed kind of odd to say the least.

He was found guilty of criminal contempt of a judge's order. In Arizona that's a misdemeanor with a small fine, possible jail time (6 months max) and parole. ARS 44-1825

There's some truth to what you say. However, what prompted him to use tactics like that? That whole AZ deal with Joe is deeper than Joe did this and Joe did that. The leftist judges, politicians, and community organizers in AZ and even the federal government have been trying to crucify him for many years, and they stooped to all kinds of BS and even some illegal tactics to try and take him down. I like to think that most of us can be noble and fly above the fray with righteousness and truth, but that hasn't been much of a defense against the left.

I tell ya...it bothers me greatly to even say this, but it may be getting to where we have to fight fire with fire as the old saying goes. Personally I think Arpaio was basically doing just that. Is it proper for a law enforcement official to color outside the lines? Well, we can get all puffed up and declare that such behavior would never be proper. I pretty much agree with that. Why do I even qualify my statement with "pretty much"? I do because being "right" or being "correct" isn't enough anymore. Corrupt politicians and their cronies at all levels will do whatever they can to destroy a person who isn't sucking up to the agenda. Arpaio was definitely not sucking up to the lefties in his state, Obama, or anyone else who wanted to promote illegal immigration. They came after him, and he reacted in similar fashion. Was it right? Everyone will have to make up their own mind. I just say the whole deal with Arpaio isn't a clear cut guilty/innocent scenario.
