Lorelei is a germanic name? How about Eva, Hannah, Jane, Sherry
Here's an idea, give her a gender neutral/slightly male leaning name. There are plenty of guys with girl sounding names. Name her something like Jo (little women) or Andy or Matt (they're all girly sounding guy's names). or Eli (E-ly), Zoe, Vasily (popular russian guy's name), Abby, Richie |

My next girl will be named Virginia.

Quoted: First, Go to an adult video store (or online site) and look up all the popular pornstar names. Then, AVOID THOSE LIKE THE PLAGUE. Maybe this says more about me, but I can't tell you the number of girls I know named Ashley Nicole, Brittany, Lauren, etc. You get the picture. Personally, I named my daughters Sophia and Lola. I was careful to avoid the "name of the year" fad. Every year there seems to be five REALLY POPULAR names that every kid seems to have. The method my wife and I used was pretty simple. She would constantly write down a list of what she liked. I had veto power, so I would cross out the names I hated and circle the ones I liked. After a few months, we eliminated THOUSANDS until I was happy. Good Luck. View Quote Quoted: How many syllables are in your last name and what's the first letter? I like to choose names that roll off the tongue well. View Quote I think if you combine these two bits of advice - you'd come up with the best name possible. Good advice guys. |

I still like "Liberty," but I have said for decades that if I ever had a girl (I won't) she would be named Amanda Marie. It rolls nicely when spoken, and Mandy is a really nice nick. It does not meet your criteria for patriotic, however.

Quoted: Please, for the sake of her, don't to anything stupid, or "tributey". She will thank you later. Her are some good ones I like.. : Val Emily Noelle Britney Carlie Sarah Lisa Mica (my personal favorite.. not sure if it's spelled correctly, but it sounds like "mike-uh" I'll give you an AR mag if you name her Mica! Quoted: My wife and I are expecting our first child within the next few weeks. We Do NOT know if it is a boy or girl. Our problem is selecting a name. We do have a name selected for a boy. However, we are still kicking around names for a little girl. I want something patriotic and very American. Perhaps a tribute to Sept. 11th. Your help would be appreciated. View Quote For the love of God - DO NOT DO THIS!!!! Please don't give your daughter some "patriotic" name or something that's "a tribute to Sept. 11th!!!" When you give kids odd names it will stick with them their entire lives. And unless she actually had something to do with the WTC collapses, why would you want her name to be a perpetual reminder of a terrorist attack? This is quite possibly the stupidest, most inconsiderate thing I've ever heard. If you want to name her after someone, pick a close friend or relative (living or dead) that you loved and admired, and had charactistics you wish your new daughter will have. But it has to be someone you know, and not a celebrity or politician. Or maybe it's someone who had a hand in bringing her into the world. For instance, I have a friend named Julie who was actually named after her father, Jules. They did that because Mom & Dad didn't make it to the hospital in time and Dad had to deliver his own daughter. Baring that, just give her a nice, sweet name like Kimberly or Jennifer. |

How about:
"youtouchherandIllgutyou" Or "EventhinkaboutaskingforadatewillgetanARshovedupyourass" Admittedly, she would have a little difficulty learning to spell her name, but it might prevent a few problems later in life. |

For many years I was very fond of the name Dana for a girl.
Then they made that stupid X-Files show. Now there are too many Dana's, and worse there are people out there who will go "Gee your parents must of been X-Philes way back when"[v] So feel free to use it now if you want. My favorite combination was actually Dana Marie Other names I am partial to are: Elizabeth Mary (or Marie) Christina Augusta (or Kristina Augusta- the spelling dont matter, I just like the sound of it) Katherine (or Catherine)Anne Gee aren't I old fashoned. |

Quoted: Of course, I would suggest a Germanic name: Lorelei It's pronounced 'Lo-ruh-lye'! It happens to be the name of my daughter. I picked out the name for my future daughter when I was about nine years old, after reading it in an old poem by Heinrich Heine. Eric The('Heidi'WasMySecondChoice)Hun[>]:)] View Quote Lorelei is a very nice name for a wee Hun. On the other hand, I've always liked some of the old-fashioned favorites such as Velveeta-Lecretia or Bubbles LeBump. Maybe there's a little Helga Melba Hun in the future? |

9/11 or patriotic
Annie for Annie Oakley. Star for the Flag. Piper for plane. Brandy for what everyone needed. |

You should have a poll, even if you BOTH don't want anything to do with it,its fun for us.
I love'Liberty',even though I have never thought of it as a name before. But to be fair,it needs to fit with your last name. And I've known girls that were named Porche and Mercedes--that didn't take their clothes off for money. |

Well, it looks like we have narrowed it down
to the following: Due to the recent passing of my wife's grandmother the middle name is "Natalie" Gabrielle Natalie or Devon Natalie I'm letting my wife choose and I think she'll decide on Gabrielle. Personally I liked the suggested name a few posted "Liberty" Thanks to all that participated! It was fun and I enjoyed the laughs. |
