Not all dogs and cats get put to sleep by an injection. I just heard a radio commercial yesterday where you can hear a dog playfully barking. The voice describes it as a yellow lab playing and that the only thing wrong with the picture was it was in a gas chamber. Then you hear the dog start to whimper. The message was to promote pet owners to get their pets fixed.

I have also witnessed the injection. Had to have a cat put down once after it was run over by a car. The vet performed the injection and I sat there and watched this cat flip back and forth in a violent action as its heart came to a stop. It took almost two minutes for it to die.

Personally, I think being gased or being injected like that is much worse than getting a bullet to the head. I grew up on a farm and my grandfather did not like the idea of just cutting the pigs throat open so he would shoot them in the head first then my dad or uncle would jump the fence and slit the throat and we would pull the pig out and tie it up to let the blood drain out. Kept the pig from suffering.

Was he dumb for not having his pet fixed? Sure. But do we know the whole story? Maybe he actually breed his shepard and din't want to have it fixed. Maybe some other dog got to it in its own yard...maybe the other dog that got it pregnant should have been controlled?

Yeah, there is a difference... inventing facts to rationalize the scumbag's behavior as DH did versus an observation of the scumbag's behavior.  Amazing you think this is humane.  Even if you accept shooting the dog, how do you accept having one tucked under your arm inches away from the other as you plug it in the head?  You don't think that is traumatic?  You don't think for a moment that dog was in total and complete fear?  Or are you so heartless that doesn't matter?

Not a problem, I don't deer hunt.  I do however small game hunt and have killed my share of upland game, game bird and varmints.  There is a difference, I don't take an animal and hold it in close proximity to another and allow it to witness me killing it... as it awaits its turn.  No, they are not humans... they don't have human rights... but they are not braindead either.  They feel emotions such as fear, and what this scumbag did was create a terrifying environment before he killed the animal.  That is cruel.

I remember Beekeeper telling me how he put his own dog down.  I was disgusted, but I understood.  The difference is he took it out into the woods, prepared a grave and dispatched the dog.  His other pets weren't there to witness it, much less await their turn.

Sometimes I suspect people around here just enjoy killing.  When I hunt it is either for the meat, or to eliminate a nuisance like woodchucks which are a threat to farmers.  I don't relish taking the life of an animal, but there sure are a lot of folks around here who brag about shooting cats and dogs and then try to rationalize it or joke about it.

Since I grew up on a farm I can guarantee you it's more likely some city shit like yourself who dropped off the pregnant bitch on his property that it was he just did not spay or neuter his dog.

If you can pretend it was him that did not spay or neuter his dogs I can also pretend that it was city folk who were the ones.

I think you are confused as to what a hypocryte is. A hypocryte is a person who would go hunting little white doves and call it a need for food, but would never do it up close and personal where he might actually get bloody in the process.  So you kill things, but have appointed yourself the judge of how things should be killed. That's the epitomy of hypocrasy.



Animals are man's property to do with as they please.  Shoot em, grill em, killem to wear thier fur, shoot them just for the hell of it, because there are too many, or mass gas/poisen the little rodents.

No, I would more likely point out you've long ago established that you are a jerk-off of un-precedented proportions David.  I don't critique spelling, and as a fat guy, I tend to instead ridicule someone's ideology rather than their appearance.  See, God may have made you ugly on the outside... but you have no control over that.  You do have control over who you are as a person, and I for one am wholly unimpressed with that.

Nope, I'm guessing the scumbag was the type who let his dog run freely and it got knocked up.  But that is neither here nor there as neither of us knows 100% from the article.  Then again, if there was some interesting twist to the story like he found the puppies abandoned, I'm guessing that would have been mentioned because the only thing more despicable than torturing small animals is abandoning defenseless animals to die a slow death.  The public would want to know, and it would just make the story that much juicier.  And there is one thing I know far better than you David, and that's how the press works.  After you spend nine years working with the media as a communications consultant, come tell me how they work... mmmmmmkay?

As for what I hunt, it tends to be turkey, pheasant, coyote and woodchucks.  I don't eat coyote or woodchuck, they are nuisance animals that pose a threat to farmers out in the countryside... a whopping 15 minute drive for me from the big city...  Wild turkey and pheasant taste great... especially deep fried turkey.  Never hunted dove in my life... nice reach boy blunder.
