Do you have....something....in your mouth? http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y91/Eyesofsilver/Angry-Muslim2.jpg I will take that as a no, but you would secretly like something in your mouth. |

Quoted: Serious question, are you a smoker? I ask because I damn near gave myself emphasima. Had asthma-like attacks after showers and in humidity. I've pretty much quit smoking. I figure damage to the heart and the decreased lung capacity was to blame. My better half had an inhaler from when she had bronchitis, that opened them up enough to quit gagging. I knew it was time to quit then. View Quote No - never smoked. Other than a few when I was a kid. Got caught. Dad made me smoke one cigarette after another at the dining room table - and inhale deeply. No pause. I nearly died. Cured me of ever having that habit. |

Viral, bacterial or fungal?
Get well soon. I'm on day 24 since being diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. First time I've ever had any infection in my lungs. Hope to God it's my last. Spent almost three weeks sleeping in a chair because I can't lie down. -J

Have you tried NyQuil? It cures everything. PSA.. The green is for cancer and tumors only!

Will this effect any upcoming driving events. If so, can I take your place, I have a great Mustache already.

Are you going to get better or just die off sometime during the night?
Seriously though, if it doesn't start improving very soon, you should go back in. Like improving in a few hours soon. At home, alone, in the middle of the night and not being able to breath is not a position you want to find yourself in a few hours. You know anybody that can come hang out with you for a while? |

Quoted: Symptoms? Pain on inspiration/experation? Dizzy? Are your finger nails blue? Do you hear anything like rice crispies when you push on your ribs? How many pillows do you sleep with? Eta cough? If so is it productive? View Quote Doc ran a pulse-ox on me. It wasn't that promising. Nail beds are okay. Yes my breathing sounds like rice crispies. I'm coughing up green crap. The pain when I cough is enough to bring me to one knee. |

Did you get a steroid inhaler?
Any coedine so you can have a productive cough? It'll still hurt, but you'll cough less and produce more when you do cough. |

Quoted: OP, I know your posts after 10 years, this is not like you. How about you call the amberlamps, and then come back to posting while you are waiting for them to show up? House? Leave the light on so they can see your address. Apartment? Leave the front door unlocked and if a secure building, get your neighbor to let them in. View Quote I really appreciate your concern. I really do. If I thought this could develop badly - then I would be in the ER. I'm not trying to prove anything. I think the steroids are starting to take effect (beside the initial triple dose making me nutty). It going to work out. I've walked a similar road once before. Again - I appreciate the concern from members. Arfcom is a good community. |

You can get an Oxymeter for $25 @ Wallgreens.
Put it on your finger every 30 minutes, and if it's showing below 95, go to the ER. I'd also like to keep you around here a while longer. |

Sounds like you need some antibiotics.
Trust me, I had a bad upper respiratory infection that I ignored, right up to the point I was hocking up black shit into the trash. The smell of said lungers, made everyone in the area of said trashcan, puke uncontrollably. You don't want to wait until it sounds like you are breathing through Venetian blinds. |

I had Pneumonia a few years back and that shit SUCKED. Can't imagine this is any fun. I fucking HATE not being able to breath. |

This started dragging me down late yesterday. I'm out this coming Sunday if I recover fully. You can come out....though that particular track is less than inspiring. |

View Quote Yes - he gave me a steroid inhaler. It works briefly and helps me gain a little lung capacity. Because my chest feels like a drumhead. |
