Life only sucks if you let it.

With all due respect, that's a bunch of bullshit.

I'm not. I'm about 25 pounds over what I would like to be, but at 5'9" 200 pounds I'm not morbidly obese either.

Overweight people? No.

Obese people? Probably a great percentage of them are.

Santa, like attractive fat people, exists only in our collective imaginations.

i will say, dropping 40lbs in 10 weeks has brought quite a few compliments, which of course makes me feel better about myself. went from 335 to 296 and dropping, and yea i can say that i'm happier, but i was only miserable after looking at myself naked in the mirror or seeing pictures of myself from unflattering angles...

One should be miserable.  That is your body telling you to lose some weight!!

I didn't realize how bad I felt (physically) until I dropped 30 lbs.  I can't imagine how crappy you must feel when you're pushing 50 or 100lbs over...

When I was at my heaviest (305), I had no energy, my knees hurt, I couldn't do any kind of physical labor for any extended period of time.  Life sucked.

Now I've lost nearly 55 lbs and I feel great.  Can't wait to shed another 20 and get to my target weight.

6 years ago I lost 80 pounds.  I kept it off for about 5 years.  Now I have gained back about 20 pounds in the last year.  I don't feel miserable, but I definitely feel uncomfortable. I weigh about 230 now and I am 6'4".  I felt a lot better at 215.

When I'm miserable and guilty feeling, I'm less motivated and "empowered". When I feel good (even if I'm performing poorly for some reason), I can quickly fix things and get back on track because I feel confident and energetic. Failure spirals are a bitch and a winning attitude is self perpetuating. If you have to use a magic feather like Dumbo did to get off the ground, by all means, convince yourself you're beautiful and happy at 400 lbs.

I know plenty of skinny ppl who are miserable pricks.

Im not fat nor am I skinny.  I was happier when I was working out, then life happened and I put some weight back on.  My body doesn't make me unhappy, dealing w the public does.  Fucking idiots.
