Did the protesters try to deface "The Wall" as they had threatened to?

Look at the 5th picture on page two.

I found this picture interesting. Look at the hippie on the far left (where else) of the photo. What a moonbat. Rainbow hat, sandles in freezing weather, dirty, out of style coat, toothless, shaggy beard, the epitidome of "stuck in the sixties" hippiedom.

Also, the protesters are carrying a Georgia Flag(on the right next to the white flag). I wonder if they know that  flag is the Confederate "Stars and Bars" with the Georgia seal added?

And look at the photographers, waiting like vultures, to catch a veteran lose it and attack those scum.

CWO, thank you for being there and upholding our side!

tag for when the pics come back up.  Thanks for attending and making us all proud.

eta:  Wow!  Great pics.... can't help but get a little misty over the fine men and women who acted as patriots that day.... standing tall and proud- because they HAVE SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF!  The moonbats just sit there with their smug little faces... such morons.  Can't help but to notice how, even in that freezing weather, they're still wearing their little Birkenstocks.

Can't say it enough times.  I'm so proud and grateful for the service of our men and women in uniform.  Unlike the moonbats, I realize what I have, and I know that I wouldn't have it if it weren't for them and those who served before them.

God bless, and thank you!

Theoretically it would mean "right" as in "right hand side" of the photo. I don't know why they'd need that though, considering he's the only one they could be talking about.

I know what they meant.  Not one word about support for "America" in the whole thing.

The Washington post ran the protesters story on page A1 and ran this one on A12.

Sunday, March 18, 2007; A12

As war protesters marched toward Arlington Memorial Bridge en route to the Pentagon yesterday, they were flanked by long lines of military veterans and others who stood in solidarity with U.S. troops and the Bush administration's cause in Iraq. Many booed loudly as the protesters passed, turned their backs to them or yelled, "If you don't like America, get out!"

Several thousand vets, some of whom came by bus from New Jersey, car caravans from California or flights from Seattle or Michigan, lined the route from the bridge and down 23rd Street, waving signs such as "War There Or War Here." Their lines snaked around the corner and down several blocks of Constitution Avenue in what organizers called the largest gathering of pro-administration counter-demonstrators since the war began four years ago.

The vets turned both sides of Constitution into a bitter, charged gantlet for the war protesters. "Jihadists!" some vets screamed. "You're brain-dead!" Others chanted, "Workers World traitors must hang!" -- a reference to the Communist newspaper. Some broke into "The Star-Spangled Banner" as war protesters sought to hand out pamphlets.

"Bunch of hooligans in motorcycle jackets!" one war protester shot back.

Saw this little blurb on another board:

The St. Patrick's day parade in New York typically draws 2 million spectators and 150,000 marchers.

Something to think about.

Outstanding !!!!!!  Does the patriot who recovered the American flag need any legal assistance ?  We could set up a legal defense fund.

I am in favor of proposing a federal law to make it a maximum $1 fine for breaking the head of anyone who defaces an American flag.  Naturally this law would supercede all state and local ordinances.  Think the bill would get any support ?

I was there. I was not participating per se.... it was very interesting to watch none the less as a passive observer. I learned much from both sides... DC is such an interesting place, I love that city.

Watching the display made me very proud to be American... the protesters were free. They expressed a very radical opinion in front of an icon of power without fear of death. I think our founding fathers would be proud.

CWO- Man, I tried to get ahold of you while we were there. I am in the dead center of the 16th picture on page 1. Black Jacket, khaki baseball cap. I didn't know you'd located Bulldog... I had met him in the morning, and seen him a few times during the day. Me, Lansker, and MKtopside pretty much stuck together during the day, then hung out over beers and food at the Quartermaster when it was over. Sorry we didn't hook up. Next time, though...

Man what a day! Can't wait for GoE II!

Well, you sir are a pussy.  I was there, and if you couldnt decided which side to be on, then your not as smart as you make yourself out to me.  It wasn't and "Anti-war" rally, it was a pro-communism rally. If you support the Marxist bullshit that the those Anti-American fucks were spouting then you deserve to die.

Those maggots need to be stomped out, plain and simple.  Its going to take force, and it needs to be done soon.  Between the "Code-pink" terrorist financiers, and the people chanting into a megaphone "Iraq united can never be defeated" over and over again, and the terrorist fucks with the Iraqi and Lebanese flags, it was clear to me that they are no different than their friends on the streets of the middle east and should be treated as such.

Well, I've being lurking around for awhile now, and what a better time to stoplurkingmoar.

Although I'm not a yank, I thought it was a great idea, an anti protest. And I was amazed to see my flag, the Australian flag, in the mists of the yanks. In Australia, much like America, the war is becoming more and more protested by hippies, and people in general. Sad.

Oh well, I still support Johnny and the war. Pity about John's seeming gun hatred.

Nice write up, and nice photos. Thanks.

This is what everyone was talking about when they said that you were too young to understand things.  Free speech is nice and all, especially for an idealogical college kid like yourself.  However, there is certain speech that must not be free, and there are those that should not have the right to speak freely.  The voice of our enemy should be suppressed at every turn, the voice of communism and socialism should be suppressed at every turn. The voice that speaks for the destruction of America as we know it must be permanently silenced.  Thousands of Americans have lost their lives in the fight to prevent the spread of communism, and just because the Soviets are out of business does not mean that the fight is over.  If the government does not want to involve itself in stamping out the communists then we will, their rights be dammed.

The line is very clear, if you associate and support ANWSER, Code-pink, or any of their fellow groups, you are a TRAITOR.  They are spreading their agenda under the guise of being "anti-war". If you cannot put aside your distaste for the war in Iraq and realize that you have the duty as an American to stop them, then you are a TRAITOR.  Just because you are not happy with something that our government has done, does not mean you should align yourself with foreign organizations bent on the destructing of America because you agree with them on one point.  If you do you are a TRAITOR.  America can handle our own business, AFTER these people are stopped.  Until then, if your not with the GoE, you are against them, and if your against them, you are against America.

No - the Wall was very safe.  When I arrived I noticed that the Park Police had set-up a fence surrounding the wall and had a mag/search checkpoint that everyone visiting the Wall had to pass through.  No-one was getting close to the Wall with anything that could harm it.  I applaud the Park Police's professionalism, dilligence and their restraint throughout the day - especially considering that it was the Patriot side that that crossed the line to express our views and that we were clearly in no mood to give the antis any slack.

When the march was over we thanked a Park Police officer and he smailed and said "We love it when you guys come to these".  They don't like these slimy antis any more than we do - they just can't say so.

On another note, I know I was greatly touched by something I saw while at the GoE.

Behind us, as we stood and waited for the Moonbat Parade, a slightly older lady and a small child stopped beinhd me, MK, and Lankser. We watched and listened as the mom pointed out several Vets standing on the wall behind us. The Vets were flying several flags... the POW/MIA, "Don't Tread on Me", and our nation's flag. This older lady stopped, kneeled down next ot the child, and began to explain the significance of each flag to the kid. The kid stood in amazement as soaked up every word mom had to say. She then explained that the men holding the flags were the kind of men who fight to keep our country safe from bad men, and told the child that all of the people standing around them were here to support these kind of men, and our great country.

Man... I got a little teary-eyed watching that. There is some hope for the next generation....

I'm truly sorry if I offended you in some way... the way i speak is just in my nature... sorry again.

I knew what side I was on. There is no doubt about that. I truly believe in freedom of speech... suppression on no voice in America. Let all speak. I believe in a very literal interpretation of the constitution.... as such we all need "assault rifles"... FA to boot. Its what George Washington would have wanted.

Well, if you were a passive observer, then you weren't on any side, hence it doesn't really matter if you knew what side you claim to be on.

Freedom.  Now there's a good topic.  With Freedom comes responsibility.  As well as the ability to not accept responsibility.  A Free person can choose what they do, as they understand the consequences of both doing and not doing.  Such as not having to apologize for saying something, as you understand that free speech and cheap talk are 2 different things.

And as for your "assault rifles"...FA to boot"...if you believe in such a "literal interpretation" of the BoR, then there is no such thing.

Good luck

AWESOME work!

I'll be in DC in about a month.. if there were something going on like this, you bet I'd be there, and you know what side I'd be on.

Fuck the hippie assholes.  Sure, they have a right to protest, just like we have the right to counter their bullshit.

Shit, you don't know much about some of our founding fathers then.

I am sure some ARFcomer would chip in to buy you a one way ticket out of the country.  Or at least point you in the direction of DU.

am I the only one that thinks the guy on the left (their right) looks like Tom Clancy?

Holy shit!

If it were really him, instead of being an anit protest, this would have turned into an autograph signing party!
