I know nothing about them. Is the the AA12 that's being discussed? http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/groups/1/2/1312/thumb_620x2000/us20marine20firing20aa-1220full-auto20shotgun2028aa1220machine20shotgun29.1.jpg View Quote |

Sounds like they didn't go "door to door," but, "gun dealer to gun dealer," which is not the same as if they went into my "neighborhood" and started going "door to door" to "people's homes," seizing guns. View Quote |

Bans don't work. All they do is create a black market. Where's my blackmarket AA12s at?

Where is the serial number on an AA12? Metal Plate? Under the shell? Just wondering if this is ATF not knowing the rules the old AA12s where made under and applying the new standard for marking retroactively? In which case, it would suck to be a LaFrance M16 owner that has the markings on the grip boss. View Quote |

something something 4th amendment something something property something something unreasonable

IIRC, an 07 FFL manufacturer has to mark the firearm with the following: manufacturer's name; city and state where the manufacturer is located; the name of the firearm model; the caliber/gauge; and a unique serial number. So which of these did the manufacturer fuck up? View Quote Due to people doing tiny marks down by the trigger hole on AR SBRs and issues with hydro dips virtually obscuring some shallow SNs |

So just have them marked correctly.
I'm sure I'm way underthinking it though. Look a can that needs to be picked up. |

That's been apparent for awhile.

OP, just out of curiosity, how many times has the ATF come to your shop? (Or any LGS in general) Do they make monthly/yearly visits? Or just random? Or was this the first time?

When's the last time ATF raided a brewery or a Tobacco plant ?

Yep, But like I said. Its the same as the police pulling you over for a plate light. The used the incorrect markings as a "justification" to remove a shotgun from ownership. Its the same stupid shit as the Street sweeper. The government can wholesale weapons to other countries for drugs and they skate clean. Someone makes a typo and the come and take them all away. Best solution would be for the atf to just note the incorrect marking. Im going to guess duplicate serials were issued or someone cloned one View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

Quoted: Normal inspections are supposed to be done yearly I think? We've gone 2 years with out one. But we don't do retail sales so that likely plays into it. View Quote Early 2000s one guy would come maybe every 2-3 years for a day maybe 2 days Now 3 guys are showing almost every year and camping out for a week |

Or maybe just poor reading comprehension.

why not just require the current owner to be marked properly?

A fucking MARKING warrants confiscating every one of them in existence? FATF.
This smells like an excuse to round them up. That will be followed by another excuse as to why they are now permanently banned and you won't be getting it back even if the marking is fixed. |
