What about the SF maps like Hospital or Blackhawk???  I love the SF maps.  I am sniper qualified and prefer that or the SAW's...

fine with me, but i don't know if everyone is SF qualified, especially those who haven't played in awhile or this is their first time

So I download over 600 MB, then find it won't let me play  until I get training. I get trained, but then it says my password is wrong so does not save any training and dumps it. What a F****** waste of time trying to get this POS running. Finally find my password is not what I made, but what they emailed me. merry go round merry go round merry go round. Does it have to count how many pushups i can do with my left mouse button before I can pass basic training?

Do I have to devote days, weeks, or months before I can get online?

I turned off the c***** music so it is better now, but I keep messing up on the  mouse range   rifle range now. I'm sorry guys, I have been on Fort Benning rifle ranges and this ain't it. Not even close. Some solid hits count, but others don't? Yes, I've seen this happen on worn out targets with huge holes, but not on qualification ranges? The iron sights are a joke too, right? What computer geek moron screwed that design up? I have to use the dot or I can't see anything other than the target blur.

If the Army is using crappy computer simulations like this to train soldiers today, no wonder untrained MPs are are using prisoners to re-create scenes from Christina Agulara music videos.

I used to play this game a lot...but there was nobody to play with that I knew, so I stopped.  Plus, the server browser was being a bitch but seems o.k. for me now.  A weekly thing would be nice.  I just changed my playername to [AR15] Hoover.

We need to come up with a better communication method than a thread, unless there is one for the current location and another for discussions.  Sticky threads would be nice too.  Will talk to Goat about it.  Maybe a dedicated AR15 TeamSpeak server...hmmm.

Lets agree on the tags before we get into this too...is it going to be [AR15.com] or [AR15] as the prefix?

hit the tilde(~) key and type open ip address (should look like this ----> open 69.43.65.33)  then hit enter key

I figured it out but cant connect to the servers mentioned earlier.

For those that wish to know how to manually enter an IP try this

hit the ~ key it is located below the escape key then enter the following command:

start ip(ip add here)

it should look like this

start ip64.74.136.121:1716

then hit enter and it will try to connect to that address.

[#27]

I get connection failed when I manually enter that. Is the server down?

I did make it through Airborne school though. Whatever I actually did for real gives me the most trouble in this game

Next is SF so it should be easy, right?

Absolut, Coyote, Armadillo, thanks, that was fun.   Maybe I can get some games in this summer.  I used to *DOMINATE* on LAN games (doom, quake 1, 2, 3) in the dorm but this latency on a DSL connection is killing me

Yeah, that was a lot of fun!  I wouldn't mind playing on some outdoor maps where we can use a bit more strategy.  Oh, and how about a West coast server!  For a Seattle guy, the lag was killing me!!!

That was fun, no doubt about it (I'm Armadillo556).  The way we were getting creamed, I somehow doubt that a better connection would have helped. But I agree, it would be swell to cut that latency somewhat. I always get frustrated when I play that game, because I have spent some much time behind a real AR (a reload should not take that much...).

And we really have to give the team thing a try. Notice we accomplished a few of the objectives when we did that!

Thanks for a great time!

sry I couldnt make the game, found out about 20 min before game time that my grandma is in the hospital.  Either a pulmanory embalism or congestive heart failure.  they just dont know yet.

This file must be freakin' huge. I'm on DSL and the download time is estimated at 1hr, 15minutes?

Sheesh.

That file is over 600Mbs COMPRESSED. Yeah, it takes a while. But the graphics are pretty and the model detail is awesome. Well worth it if your system can handle it.

I found the other guys (Absolut and Coyote) by looking for specific maps. They said they would be in either Pipeline or Mountain pass, so I filtered for those maps, and looked at the players. The second I saw the [AR15] tags I knew I was home...

Uh, I downloaded the thing, then it asked about setup, so I started setup and my computer just about froze up, so I aborted. This is a brand new Sony computer, boys. What gives?

how long did it "sit" because on my 2.6ghz it still took a good while to install.. uncompressing 600 megs is a large job.

Right after I clicked "setup," my computer (2.8Ghz processor) just about slowed to a standstill. After five minutes, I panicked (this is a BRAND NEW MACHINE) and hit "abort."

Should I start it again and wait a while for it to do its thing?

I've never played the game (or any multiplayer game for that matter), but this sounds interesting.

I would say yes....you can also hit ctl+alt+del to view task manager and watch cpu usuage etc. just to make sure it's running.

I have a 3.0 ghz machine and it still took a little bit, but well worth it.

Make sure you aren't running anything else like outlook.  Those tend to be system resource hawgs as well.

Yeah, or somebody (heck, I could volunteer) could send IM or e-mail to those interested. Let's make a list of names of people who want to make this into a full-blown clan thing. Talent or skill is not necessary, beer on your end is, to make the pain bearable.

How can we work the details? Post here, IM, e-mail?

This has the potential to be disastrously fun!
