My Dad took tons of pictures during WWII.  I brought home a big fat packet with 100s of pics in it.

I will sort through them and get them scanned into the computer.

Here are a few random ones I pulled out.  I scanned a couple a little crooked, I will rescan those.  He even wrote on the back of when and where these are taken.

June 1945, enroute to Kaufbeurn.

Just got the call from my brother.

My Dad passed away 45 minutes ago in a Hospice home.

I had just talked to my Dad on the phone Sunday after he moved into hospice, he sounded tired but in good spirits.

We lost another WWII vet.

At least he didn't suffer long.

I'll be heading down tomorrow and be offline for awhile after tonight.

My condolences on your loss, your dad was surely one of the last of the truly great men this nation produced.

Thank you kindly for the pictures. I do so enjoy living vicariously throughout history. Tip o' the cap for the fine folks who had to partake in that little affair.

Awesome images...

Without a doubt these men and women were the greatest generation of Americans ever...

I love nothing more than WW2 pics, films, documentaries or movies..

Don't get me wrong..I think there were other great Americans since.. but not to the quality and quantity of
the generation of those who fought and refused anything other than complete victory,as a nation!

Looking at America now as we have been in Iraq and A-Stan and the non-support of our .gov and loathing of the liberals of now and Vietnam and even Korea makes me sick to my stomach...We should support our men and women regardless of what it cost or what it takes..

i grieve with you in your time of loss.. I lost my pop in 1989 who was a pilot back in the Army Air Corp in WWII. In your memories always remeber that he was from a generation of heroes that will not be forgotten for the incredible acts of bravery which were acted out on almost a daily basis.

If I am a tenth of the man that these were I would be happy..
