It is a matter of state law.    Each has their own definition within their laws.    For example, Kentucky Concealed Deadly Weapons License includes knives, swords, guns,  nunchucka, class III,  or whatever.

Our concealed deadly weapon license covers more than just handguns:
(a) A weapon of mass destruction;
(b) Any weapon from which a shot, readily capable of producing death or other
serious physical injury, may be discharged;
(c) Any knife other than an ordinary pocket knife or hunting knife;
(d) Billy, nightstick, or club;
(e) Blackjack or slapjack;
(f) Nunchaku karate sticks;
(g) Shuriken or death star; or
(h) Artificial knuckles made from metal, plastic, or other similar hard material;

It does cover long guns.

It's a trick though - no open carry allowed on the death star...

KY is the same way, but we can carry pretty much everything, even a machine gun. Good luck though trying to defend that in a self defense situation.

Arkansas law is very specific about what can be legally carried with the CHCL even though it is a Concealed HANDGUN Carry License. The specificity of the code eliminates the legal carrying of concealed rifles.

I don't see the issue.     It is legal.  They can be used responsibly.  In some situation,  I would prefer one.

Follow the rules of the state you are in. If your state allows brass knuckles they will not be permitted in Tennessee, as one example.

Iowa issues permits to carry weapons.
Concealed or not.
Handguns, rifles, swords, whatever.

So under the rules of permit reciprocity.  How would this potential apply in other states, Do they honor it all, or only the parts that match their permits?

Exactly, there are plenty of websites that tell the the differences. I always take a look at states I will be traveling to and through on vacation.

What is this concealed carry permit you speak of?

Constitutional Carry FTW. Can carry anything I want in any manner I want no fucks given.

SC handguns only no greater than 12" measured along "greatest length" (presumably muzzle to rear of grip).

CA CCW is for Handguns, I've seen a few people qualify with pistol AR's, but with the required bullet button I just don't see the point. Especially when I can carry an AR in my car so long as its not loaded, loaded mag next to it is ok though.

A concealed weapons permit,  unless stated for handguns only. Dose it cover rifles?

This isn't asking about any one state but a over all in lawyer speak. If the law and permit both say "weapon" it would cover the carrying of a concealed rifle correct?

In Kentucky it covers any deadly weapon than one can legally posses, including automatic knives, rifles, SMGs and explosives.

I don't think so either. I suppose an AR pistol would be ok though.

Covers handguns only here.

Concealing a 3.51" folding knife would be illegal.

In Arizona, you could conceal anything. I'm pretty sure you could use an M203 for your daily carry if you wanted to. NC only covers handguns. You can't even conceal a knife.

A knife with a blade greater than 4.5 inches, per case law.
