Got to tool around in this one early this month: http://s385.photobucket.com/albums/oo294/ksmedman/ElijahShelbyGT500.jpg More horses, more money... Saw one that looked very similar to that on the interstate a few months back. It had the front and back bumpers hanging off and scrap marks all down the passenger side. Had a younger guy driving it, wondered at the time if it lost control at one of those sema events. |

Being friends with my local ford dealership I got to test drive the new 302 along with the 5.0 to compare.
The 5.0 was very quick. (Manual with a 3.55) Faster than the 03 Mach1 I use to have. The 302 absolutely destroys the 5.0 Handles so nice, revs higher, another 40+horsepower, gets great traction with the fat tires. Also has the exhaust cut outs that come out from under the doors. The 302 was just barely slower than my 3v GT with a hellion turbo |

Ive been taking care of a freinds hayabusa and had to get in the 5.0 right after a ride in the busa. I wanted to see how slow it would feel. Floored it in first and was waiting for it to get going all of the sudden i hit the rev limiter. Felt like a corolla. But if you wait a few hours for you to lose the speed tolerance the car will feel fast again. |

My uncle just bought one with no markup. You could always buy it elsewhere and drive it home. Save 8 or 40k. Shit I'd be happy to drive it there for 2k

There was a few places here adding a ridiculous mark up on the GT500 when it came out.. a year and a half later they were trying to get rid of it for $8k off the sticker. |

If i was going for a straight sports car, I don't think I would spend that much on a mustang.
|
|
As said, if you shop around you can get them for MSRP.
Also, word is that the 2013 GT500 will have over 600hp (due to the ZL1). Whether it can put all that power to the ground is a different story. Though, not a bad last go around before the new Mustang debuts. |

302? What is that, some kind of small Euro 4-banger? Its the new Capri hear you liked those My Capri was a mighty (by Euro standards) V6. A whole 2.3 litres! thought those had cologne 2.8L V-6s like Mustang IIs and Bronco IIs the 2.3 was the 4 banger Hey, don't hate on that 2.3L engine. I had a XR4Ti with that 2.3L in turbo trim, it was no slouch for the time. The problem that engine had was the computer electronics and various sensors, seems one would pop every 10K. |

I always feel so conflicted when I see that car - I want to prefer the American designs, but that is such a blend of form and function, it's like a work of art. Too rich for my blood, though. |

they are nice.
but the trans has problems in all v8 mustangs except gt500 the interior is 'spartan' around here they are marking them up 8 to 10k. for about the same price you can get a vette or a gt500. the vette will take the boss in the 1/4 an on the track. the gt500 will take the boss in the 1/4 but not the track. gt500 is a bit more 'exotic' and you can get a nice interior with more stuff. i considered them until i started reading the allfordmustangs fourm and the complaints with the tranny. for those that say the coyote is not as good as the gm v8's thats absolutely ridiculous. the coyote motor, the heads are as good as some race car heads. its a great motor. in a year or two they are supposed to come back with independent suspension mustangs. quarter-milers will whine but everyone else will be happy. me i dont do 'market adjustments'. a 50k spartan interior mustang is a bridge too far for me.. |

Local dealer offer me no mark up on a 2012 Boss they had already incoming the buyer backed out . Orange no Laguna Seca package. . The sales are slowing I think on the Boss . The dealer got allotted 2 Boss cars for 2012 . The have a Black GT-500 sitting on the floor . No test drives policy. The car should be on e-bay as well . Just say no to Government Motors if you buy there cars it makes there policy valid . I refuse to support the policy of taxpayer bailout. a base Vette may be a better deal but I refuse .

dont forget they were charging upwards of 90k for the gt500's when they came out. give it a few years and get a gently used one

My buddy wants one bad, he's going to order a '13 model, as all the '12's are built and sitting on dealer lots with huge markups.
Fantastic car, if you can get it near the sticker price, it's even a good value |
|
GT500 went with huge mark ups when they first came out (2007). They dropped like a rock when the market became saturated. I got mine for >35K "new" on MSO with 86 miles on it. Original buyer paid $62k.
However, Boss 302's are going to be limited runs for two years only (less than 10,000 total) Investors /collectors will be scooping these up. |

There is nothing wrong with buying a new car, if work hard for your money and can afford it. Go out and enjoy it, get yourself a new Challenger if that's what you want. I have bought more than my fair share of new vehicles, no regrets at all. People bad mouth buying new for one reason and one reason only, you as the new car buyer eat the initial depreciation (which does vary depending on the car). If you can get over that, go ahead and buy new. |
