Quoted: Quoted: tell me again what is supposed to be great about it? Well ..... It is a quality car that is affordable to most Americans..... that gets 40 mpg..... and is made in the USA by Americans...... but most importantly it seems to piss most of you off. Isn't it just a rebadged Daewoo? ETA: Yep Daewoo Lacetti = Chevy Cruze. |
|
Quoted: I'll stick with the Civic for a small car. BigDozer66 For what it's worth, Base prices for the Cruze’s main competitors are $16,200 for a Corolla, $16,415 for a Civic, $16,095 for a Mazda3, $16,170 for a Sentra, $17,040 for a Focus, the new Jetta will be priced starting "around $16,000" $14,865 for an Elantra, and $14,390 for a Forte (including typical destination fees). The cruze starts at $16,995 That was noted on the site I linked earlier, and I'm guessing this is 2010 pricing (except for the Jetta). |

It is a quality car yet to be tested/proven car that is affordable to most Americans has a cheap base model..... that gets 40 mpg that will have a model with no performance that only gets 40mpg ..... and is made in the USA by Americans...... not going to touch this one but most importantly it seems to piss most of you off. I just took a look at the specs. Base engine is 136hp, Turbo engine is...138hp. The base models are rated at 36mpg, however they have a 5th model of the Cruze that seems to be its only function is to be rated at 40mpg, but isn't available yet. ETA: I guess what is great about it is that Chevy is getting closer to hitting the mark compared to other makes. Not quite there yet though. |

Not to shit on your job Chevyguy85, but fuck GM and fuck obama. They will never see a single cent of my money for as long as I live.

Quoted: Quoted: A subsidiary of GM since 1931. I wouldn't drive one of their crappy cars either (although some of the pre-1970 examples look pretty cool). Holden actually makes some badass cars. http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8197/800px20092010holdenveco.jpg Four door sedan with a 6.0l v8 and made of sex. Except in America we only get the shit fucking compact cars. Why am I reading that it's not a Holden? Now that Chevy’s next small thing has had its teething pains, the Daewoo-developed compact is being shown in a dizzying array of trims and packages for the US market. And from Wiki: Underpinned by the front-wheel drive GM Delta II platform, GM said the Cruze was "developed by a global design and engineering team".[20] Most of the design work was conducted by GM Daewoo, with Opel responsible for most of the engineering.[20][21] This development program spanned over 27 months at a cost of US$4 billion. A total of 221 prototypes were tested in Australia, Canada, China, South Korea, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.[22] This seems to have nothing to do with Holden whatsoever, other than wearing it's nameplate in the Aussie market. The first generation, the original Cruze was derived from the subcompact Suzuki Ignis (known the Suzuki Swift in Japan).[1][2] The development of the Cruze departed from the original five-door hatchback Suzuki as a sport utility vehicle (SUV), using either the front- or four-wheel drive layout.[3][4] Despite the Chevrolet branding, the YGM1, like the production car, was the work of GM's Australian arm, Holden.[5][6] Along with the styling, Holden also executed most of the engineering work and were responsible for devising the "Cruze" nameplate.[1] This here is a different vehicle as images clearly seem to indicate. Now that we have that all cleared up... |

But you're right, that one does seem pretty cool in my completely uninformed opinion. It even had an optional six speed manual transmission. |

This whole fuck GM still confuses me. Yes its bullshit our .gov owns GM. GM employs thousands of Americans. Those of you who say fuck GM because of socialism would rather screw over American workers (even if they are union scum) and give your money to a possible foreign enemy? You would rather that money go overseas than stay in our own economy? Last time I checked Germany was one of the founders of the EU. They are socialists. You would rather give your money to the Japs? The Japs? The same people who would toss their enemies babies in the air and skewer them on their bayonets? The same Japs that committed incredible atrocities to thousands of American troops? Hell, I bet some of you guys will line up for those Chinese cars heading for our shores. I dont get it.
