Ok, today starts the Arfcom fitness forum 100 day burpee challenge
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MGljX4bbps Today, do 1 (one) burpee Tommorow, do 2.... ...on the 100th day, do 100. (Thursday, April 30, 2009) Total burpees over the 100 days, 5,050 Join up, do it, live or die trying. Who's with me!? |
What is a burpee? Is it the gas you get after you drink a Slurpee too fast?
CJ |
I'm in!
Note to self: Learn what a burpee is and how to do one. |
Burpee is the seed company I get my 'mater seeds from.
It's also a way to torture your body, as seen in this nifty video: Burpee |
I hate blurpees, but I'm in.
ETA, I'll see your blurpee and raise you a pull up. In true arfcom fashion...do both. |
I'm in. Going to be good trainning for me. Torn my bicep in Oct. haven't been able to do a push up yet. :(
I would love to do a convict contest, but I wont be able to get that many pullups done. Hell, I dont even have a fucking pullup bar worth a shit at my gym. Come to think of it, I should install one at my damn apartment.
You don't have to do them in a row, just through the course of the day
The last couple weeks would probably suck though, but think of the "turtle shell" you would develop. |

Yours sounds cooler, I'm going to use that instead from now on
I am in.
edit: do as many as you can pullup/chinup or commando-ups after each burpee set |
This is bs. No way is this a way to get your body in any sort of well conditioned shape other than to be able to do more burpee's.
Anyone even heard of P90X? Sprints? cardio? |
Dude this is NOT a standalone program. Its a test of sorts. Its like adding a bit of seasoning to a nice piece of fish. I workout 6 days a week. This is just a fun way to add more work.
And just how exactly is doing a pushup, squat thrust, and a jump not good for you? Last I checked that was just about every muscle group in your body. I am not advocating this as a fucking workout program. I'm starting a 100 day burpee challenge. Nothing more, nothing less. |
Just did my first one. Feel the burn!
Seriously, sounds like a good challenge, I'm in. Jon |

I'm afraid I don't concur. Perhaps you sould stick to pilates untill you're ready. Burpees are about THE best all around conditioning exersise. Burpees are so cool- you can even do them in the SHU. |
NOT a burpee. he doesn't drop down to a squat- more of a sprawl. These are burpees...@ :25 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjaTd_ZemkQ Ross Training. |

I'm not going to point fingers, but we could do with a little less thread shitting and a little more burpees.

I was tired watching him! Great to see a family entry!!! Ross is an elite level performer. He has good form, and for me, he provides inspiration to try harder after I see him crank it out. Just go at your own speed. I can manage 10 sets of 10, but it takes me awhile, and it's almost a NDE. Are we posting our times??? |
