Just when I think Maryland is the pits Kali comes along and reminds me that you guys DEFFINITELY have it worse. Sorry to hear about it! Maybe Arnold will come through for you guys.

Here's what I e-mailed to the Governator:
Mr. Schwartzenegger, I was appalled to hear that a ban on .50 caliber rifles passed the CA Senate and Assembly and is headed to your desk to sign. These rifles are extremely heavy, cost several thousands of dollars, and have NEVER BEEN USED IN A CRIME. If you would like to preserve safety and freedom, energize your Republican base and have any hope of delivering CA for President Bush in November, I urge you to VETO this legislation. Thank You, JCKnife www.govmail.ca.gov |
Good to know. I plan to have a Barrett .50 Group Buy up around November. |
The nation is infected with cancers at both ends.
It's coming. How's about all you Kalif fockers call and write the Governator and tell him, if he signs the bill, you're voting for Kerry. Maybe make him think the pres election may hinge on the issue a bit? |
Oh for fucks sake...
Here is my reply to the governor.
Email sent.
Remember folks, laws like this spread like a disease. By doing nothing, you are akin to those hunters that stand by and say "Well they well never ban MY hunting rifles/shotguns". Laws at the Federal level will be patterned like those of PRK. I highly encourage you to email our Governor and tell him that this will hurt in terms of tourism dollars. It only takes a few minutes. California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger [email protected] |
Unless that's a bolt-action, we can't buy one... |
Email sent. Don't think I'd ever buy a .50 BMG too much buck for the bang but still if the US Constitution is to me anything this bill is required to be defeated.
Sounds like the "Girliemen" need to be taken out to the pacific for fishing lessons.

Big ol' fat +1 Yet another bite of the apple. A big thanks to our friends and fellow fans of the 2nd who support us "lost souls" in Kali by writing letters and taking a supportive stand on the gungrabbing bullshite that goes on here. |
I just called and informed them that my 1ce and 2ce a year (EVERY YEAR TO CALIFORNIA TO VISIT RELATIVES!!!) tourism dollars would "not go to support a state that doesn't support it's sportsmen"
MAKE SURE TO PLAY UP THIS ANGLE This seemed to really punch the right button because the girl on the other end of the line said "okay, so you're a hunter, a sportsman? " and then later confirmed that I was indeed a private citizen and not the owner of a gun store. Apparently they know to fear the hunting and sportsman vote so FOR BOB'S SAKE, CALL YOURSELF A SPORTSMAN and remind them that the rifles cost upwards of $2000 ! |
The ones available to own in Kali cost between $1250.00 and $3,000.00 each. |
thank god i dont live in the prk, not that i will be buying a .50 BMG anytime soon
You don't think so? Paint additives and lawn equiptment has changed to conform to Kali's OSHA/carb regulations. Alot of other things have changed as well, but Iv'e started to drink now and can't think straight. |
Does that include necessary optics and other accoutrements? |
Hell No, just the optics cost that much. |
I snail-mailed Arnie this afternoon. Hopefully, more people are doing the same.
If no one contacts Ahnold then ,yes, he will sign it.
We can only hope EDM and Barrett get to talk to him first. CRC |
For anyone who writes to the Governator:
Please spell his name right. It's Schwarzenegger. |
I'm just gonna call him "Guvnur" |
EMPHASIZE THIS APPLIES TO BOLT ACTIONS AND SIMILAR ONLY.
DON'T LET HIM BUY THE ANTIS ARGUMENT M82s ARE LEGAL. CRC |
Not really. The "shit laws" of Kali have not and will not make it to MOST states. Don't believe that bullshit that the rest of us will suffer Kali's fate. Yes, we must be dilligent, but that shit won't come here. Kali has not been "top of the hill" in a long time. |
Well, gee, whose fault is it that the ELECTED officials in Kali keep passing these laws? |
When what gets to the Federal courts? When did the current administration support the Kali AWB? You have lost your fucking mind. When did Ashcroft make that statement relating to the Kali AWB? |
As the wonderful bumper sticker will often remind you, don't blame me I didn't vote for them. At the state level my votes go to the Replublican candidate. On the local/regional level my votes go to those who have a proven gun friendly stance...be they third party or no. Yes, 3rd parties can win the small ones. If it looks like they have a chance I'll sometimes vote for the libertarian who's running for city council. |
Okay, if the will of the people is being ignored, why "fight the good fight"? Why not get out if, by your admission, the will of the people is being ignored? What fight is there left to fight? As for Kali taking the rest of the country with it, that is some overly self-important bullshit. |
Well, gee, the Federal ban is sunsetting, yet the Kali one is not. So much for that comparison. Oh, a dem introduced a .50 cal ban in Congress. Well, it passed in Kali, but it won't in DC. Oh, NY state Assembly has passed a .50 cal ban, but the state Senate has not. Big deal. Even if they do, one expects NY, Jersey, Maryland, and Illinois to follow Kali. Does that mean that the rest of the states and the Feds are going to follow their lead? NO! Kali is not as important as some of you think. |
Would a city council Libertarian be able to do anything about this state ban? As some else said, the will of the people is being ignored out there, so why keep fighting it? If there was any hope of turning it around, I could see staying and fighting it. Do you see any hope or do you just see it getting worse? That is a legit question, wanting your opinion on that question. |
LarryG,
A city council Libertarian would at least oppose a city wide ban. The Kaliban, for instance, exempts some rimfire rifles but a city ban might not. Just a thought. CRC |
You are probably right LARRYG regarding gun laws but it is still something that should at least be a concern. A couple of examples: The most obvious for us: Gun laws. Despite the fact that the AWB will be expiring for now it was influenced by the 89 Roberti-Roos law. If any future bans come out they will probably be based on exisitng California Gun laws. Textbooks for schools: Textbook publishers for K-12 will write books based on the needs of Texas and California. Auto emissions: If there was ever a case of the other 49 states following what California does it is auto emissions. POSITIVE CRANKCASE VENTILATION: Ca-1961, 49 states-1963 AIR INJECTION W/CONTROLLED COMBUSTION SYSTEM Ca- 1966, 49 states-1968 CHARCOAL CANISTER EVAPORATIVE CONTROL SYSTEMS Ca-1970, 49 states-1971 EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION Ca-1972, 49 states-1973 "THREE-WAY" CATALYTIC CONVERTERS Ca-1980, 49 states-1981 Currently, there are five states that follow California emissions standards for new automobiles. I bet you in a few more years all autos will be, just to make it easier from a manufacturers standpoint. |

All the antis gunners just cream their jeans over passing a CA style ban nationwide.
CRC |
This makes me afraid to get stationed in San Diego, despite military status.
So very very afraid... |
I say we have a Hollywood boycott. If anymore anti laws are put in effect, Hollywood doesn't make any money. Anyone have the ability to start up a site to boycott Hollywood? I am sure THAT would get their attention. |

Now what does that sound like to everyone here??? Cough, Communism, Cough... Bigfeet |

LMAO unless some of you can make some kick ass films screw that. I don't have a prob with gun laws |

You are a day late and a dollar short.
50 state emmission control cars have been selling on car lots for a few years now.

The first vote was 35/36 (71 votes) and defeated. There are 80 members of the assembly so the ghost voting was done with the remaining missing 9 votes. Still not enough for a 2/3's majority, so it must have required a simple majority?

Hey Larry G, I used to live in NJ, so please dont tell me that what happens in Cali wont happen somewhere else or in "most states", ok? I watched it occur where I lived, and thankfully I was able to move. And it can and does happen. So write Arnold and tell him the FACTS! I have, and also mentioned that if he signs it, I'll never sink another dime into ANYTHING he does. Nor will I visit that state ever again. I feel I may be burning all my Arnold DVD collection soon.
As I already stated, I expect Jersey to be one of the few to follow their example. New Jersey is not most states, it is one of 3 or 4 that would follow. I still maintain that the vast majority of states will not follow their lead. I already will never return to that state. Their gun laws and socialist agenda are already enough to steer me away from that place. |

Read it and weep. www.rense.com/general32/americ.htm The Communist Takeover Of America - 45 Declared Goals From Greg Swank 12-4-2 You are about to read a list of 45 goals that found their way down the halls of our great Capitol back in 1963. As you read this, 39 years later, you should be shocked by the events that have played themselves out. I first ran across this list 3 years ago but was unable to attain a copy and it has bothered me ever since. Recently, Jeff Rense posted it on his site and I would like to thank him for doing so. http://www.rense.com Communist Goals (1963) Congressional Record--Appendix, pp. A34-A35 January 10, 1963 Current Communist Goals EXTENSION OF REMARKS OF HON. A. S. HERLONG, JR. OF FLORIDA IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES Thursday, January 10, 1963 . Mr. HERLONG. Mr. Speaker, Mrs. Patricia Nordman of De Land, Fla., is an ardent and articulate opponent of communism, and until recently published the De Land Courier, which she dedicated to the purpose of alerting the public to the dangers of communism in America. At Mrs. Nordman's request, I include in the RECORD, under unanimous consent, the following "Current Communist Goals," which she identifies as an excerpt from "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen: [From "The Naked Communist," by Cleon Skousen] 1. U.S. acceptance of coexistence as the only alternative to atomic war. 2. U.S. willingness to capitulate in preference to engaging in atomic war. 3. Develop the illusion that total disarmament [by] the United States would be a demonstration of moral strength. 4. Permit free trade between all nations regardless of Communist affiliation and regardless of whether or not items could be used for war. 5. Extension of long-term loans to Russia and Soviet satellites. 6. Provide American aid to all nations regardless of Communist domination. 7. Grant recognition of Red China. Admission of Red China to the U.N. 8. Set up East and West Germany as separate states in spite of Khrushchev's promise in 1955 to settle the German question by free elections under supervision of the U.N. 9. Prolong the conferences to ban atomic tests because the United States has agreed to suspend tests as long as negotiations are in progress. 10. Allow all Soviet satellites individual representation in the U.N. 11. Promote the U.N. as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government with its own independent armed forces. (Some Communist leaders believe the world can be taken over as easily by the U.N. as by Moscow. Sometimes these two centers compete with each other as they are now doing in the Congo.) 12. Resist any attempt to outlaw the Communist Party. 13. Do away with all loyalty oaths. 14. Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office. 15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States. 16. Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights. 17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks. 18. Gain control of all student newspapers. 19. Use student riots to foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack. 20. Infiltrate the press. Get control of book-review assignments, editorial writing, policy-making positions. 21. Gain control of key positions in radio, TV, and motion pictures. 22. Continue discrediting American culture by degrading all forms of artistic expression. An American Communist cell was told to "eliminate all good sculpture from parks and buildings, substitute shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms." 23. Control art critics and directors of art museums. "Our plan is to promote ugliness, repulsive, meaningless art." 24. Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press. 25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV. 26. Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch." 28. Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in the schools on the ground that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state." 29. Discredit the American Constitution by calling it inadequate, old-fashioned, out of step with modern needs, a hindrance to cooperation between nations on a worldwide basis. 30. Discredit the American Founding Fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man." 31. Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of the "big picture." Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over. 32. Support any socialist movement to give centralized control over any part of the culture--education, social agencies, welfare programs, mental health clinics, etc. 33. Eliminate all laws or procedures which interfere with the operation of the Communist apparatus. 34. Eliminate the House Committee on Un-American Activities. 35. Discredit and eventually dismantle the FBI. 36. Infiltrate and gain control of more unions. 37. Infiltrate and gain control of big business. 38. Transfer some of the powers of arrest from the police to social agencies. Treat all behavioral problems as psychiatric disorders which no one but psychiatrists can understand [or treat]. 39. Dominate the psychiatric profession and use mental health laws as a means of gaining coercive control over those who oppose Communist goals. 40. Discredit the family as an institution. Encourage promiscuity and easy divorce. 41. Emphasize the need to raise children away from the negative influence of parents. Attribute prejudices, mental blocks and retarding of children to suppressive influence of parents. 42. Create the impression that violence and insurrection are legitimate aspects of the American tradition; that students and special-interest groups should rise up and use ["]united force["] to solve economic, political or social problems. 43. Overthrow all colonial governments before native populations are ready for self-government. 44. Internationalize the Panama Canal. 45. Repeal the Connally reservation so the United States cannot prevent the World Court from seizing jurisdiction [over domestic problems. Give the World Court jurisdiction] over nations and individuals alike. |
