If G19 is  a choice, then G19 is THE choice.

The answer is always 9mm, unless you need .40 to play a game (USPSA).

I have a p226 in 40SW and love plinking with it. My plan is coming together as I just got my G29. Now I can reload with the same set of dies using same bullets.
I don't have a 9mm. Never felt like I needed it cause I have several 22s

9 if you are limp wristed with soft hands and like to be a sheep. Otherwise 40, as other have stated - with conversion barrel shoot 357 sig or 9.

9mm over .40.  10mm over both.

10mm with a 9x23 Dillon conversion barrel.  If you're a man that is, otherwise stick with 40 short and weak and stay over with the women and democrats.

I have the yearning for a 1911 Commander size.  My top choice for caliber is .40 and there just isn't much for options.  The SA EMP is about it, but it isn't a Commander like I want.  That leaves .45 and 9mm.  I already have 9mm and the thought of getting a .45 and needing new reloading dies, more brass, bullets, etc. doesn't sound to appealing.  I'll probably end up getting a 1911 Commander in 9mm.  When I started researching this I was surprised there isn't more options for .40 caliber outside a 5 inch 1911.

Between this thread, and this thread, we really should just settle the debate with .45 ACP.

Like we all know in our hearts is the correct answer.

I have the 10mm also, but he did not ask about that. Fat, drunk and stupid is now way to go thru life.

9x19 every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

There is a reason that the FBI is going from the fortay to the 9's

Look up the FBI paper - it is a PDF for all the bullet points.

G19 all the way...
If I were to get rid of every handgun I have ever owned over the last 50 yrs and could keep only one the G19 would be my choice hands down.
Capacity, light weight,"concealibility",and fits most hands big or small everyone in the family could use it effectively if needs be.
You get good sights, good light, factory mags and good ammo and you are ready to fight your way to your rifle...

Yes, and that reason is many recruits continually fail marksmanship with the 40. I think it is something like 2 fails with a 40 then they give them a 9mm to pass.

People are weak and lazy.

People who don't shoot regularly feel more comfortable with a 9mm and that is fine but when they start selling it as better then 40 I tune out and just see them as weak and lazy.

I carry a 17 most of the time because I have a Sub2000 9mm in my truck and liked the idea of same mags. If I would have come across a 40 sub2000 for the deal I got in the 9mm then i'd carry a G22.

If the above doesn't matter to me then I carry my G32 because .357Sig is the best
