Was expecting a bag of wood shaving chicken bedding.
Guess that'll take a few more days. |

Damn that is painful. All building projects for me are off the table until things are more reasonable.

Ha! today in a mainstream paper over here in Clogland the headline was:
"Wood Is The New Gold" I guess we all Zimbabwe now |

Rolled through the lumber section at Lowe’s today just to take a look and the regular 2x4s were $9.79. Glad I have a few stashed away in the attic from a few years ago.

I was planning on building a small pole barn this summer. Fuck that. Might build it out of steel at this point.

Our house in Huntington Beach was built from lumber and doors from the demolition of Santa Ana High School in the 40’s. Full dimension redwood 2x4’s. Relatives did the work…uncles brothers

Boss's Pole Barn we're building. Don't even want to think about what the cost of the 2x4x16 braces was. The poles are 6x6x20 4 foot on center, total of 61.

I dropped a grand on plastic 4" form work just to avoid buying lumber this year wherever I can.

I have to ship a torque tube from my 924s to a rebuilder in Georgia from PA... We got 2 pallets of soil delivered yesterday of Garden soil... Those pallets are going to go into making the the container for the nearly 5 foot long torque tube. Saves a bunch of money for transport as I don't have to source the materials (for the most part) for shipping via truck freight... Saves at least $100 in materials....

My house back in the home village needs a new porch and some leveling.
But it will be put off for another year or two. |

Quoted: Yup. Not buying any wood unless I absolutely have to View Quote I have 4x sheets of exterior grade plywood sitting in my garage I bought at the height of the BLM bullshit not cover a window or door that got a rock through it. I figured I would make them into new storage benches. They are still sitting because I refuse to pay $9 for a stud. |

3 months ago I priced out my 10x12 greenhouse at $633, to the nail. When I went to HD three weeks ago to pick up everything I needed, the new total was $1023.
Adding insult to injury I took their sign on 2x4x8's as gospel, turned out they weren't even 8'. I hate friggin box stores. |

Nobody has a little band saw mill nearby?
Lots of trees I suppose, if you can get to them |

I was looking at a house today and the fence is in rough shape. Completely gray, sagging backer rails, wervy pickets.
Big, corner lot, fuck... Replacing the fence today would be about the same as a down payment. |

I bought 4 - 1"X8"X9' pieces of poplar today. It was damn near $200. My fucking wife doesn't understand that wood prices are regarded, and she is as impatient as a 2 year old.
What a fucking waste of money. I am ashamed of myself......... |

Building a 3 bedroom summer house at the lake.
1/2 the lumber we had in a warehouse, the other half was ordered last fall. Contactor is telling us prices are still nuts, often can't get quote untill it has been delivered. The guys building it were stunned we had truck loads of plywood. I think we have enough to sheet the roof in ply too. Was in a warehouse for 25 years. My Dad was a contractor and had piles of lumber. They are actually concerned that people would steel the sheeting off the house at night. Attached File Attached File |

You should feel good about wood prices.
I bought my wife 1.7 ounces of perfume for $150.00 at Saks Fifth Avenue tonight for our 17th anniversary. If you multiply that it is actually $11,250 per gallon. |

I love it because I never have to do anything other than clean it. I was talking to a friend about his relative in Austin that needs a fence. I mentioned PVC. He said they can’t use that in Texas because it would get too soft and sag in the heat. Is that true? Are your only options metal and wood? |

I drove by the local mill. It was full of logs ready to cut, and full of cut lumber ready to ship. It looks like supply is there.

I just spent $300 for eleven 16' pressure treated boards for my deck floor that decided to literally rot away this spring.
I need 20 more if I want to do it right. Fun times. |

A few people have chainsaw mills. I am looking at getting something for the chainsaw to rough cut spruce and cotton wood. |

Near work, there are train tracks coming out of Canada and for fun I counted the cards with lumber...65 cards of various types of lumber. Three times a day sometimes. Near where I live (different train tracks) a daily train with wood. Semi truck loads every day headed to lumber mills loaded with lumber. It's our there, somebody is price fixing and putting the hurt on the consumer while making bank.
