Up for sale:
Excellent condition Pre-Ban Sporter Match H-Bar, specifically configured with an A3 upper.
I had the privilege of purchasing this rifle many years ago (FTF in 2005) from a longtime ARF EE moderator, who also lived in Michigan.
This is from the early 90’s (1991 or 1992) based on serial numbers captured from historical data (see date picture)
The original R6601 upper was sent to Colt for upgrade to A3 (in the early 90’s).
It was assembled by Colt for the Washington State Police Department.
When Colt sent the upper back, they didn’t forget to include the original “factory” A2 upper.
(you can see the lower is professionally engraved “Washington State Patrol”)
This is truly one-of-a kind.
Everything is Colt Grey.
Amazingly, all colors are nicely matched (both uppers, carry handle and lower receiver)
The party piece of this configuration is the Ultra Rare Colt Grey A3 upper with large pivot.
They only came on the early 6700’s.
The fact that this one came from Colt is very cool. Standard proof mark is visibly clear
It’s also noteworthy that the original factory A2 upper is included. (Marked C MB = Colt Mueller Brass)
Therefore, this is not a “parts gun”. You can easily configure this back to “factory” if you choose.
Comes with original factory handguards as well
Colt Gray finish, Colt A3 flat-top upper with no "T" numbers, has proof mark, carry handle marked MMA,
fence around the mag button on the right side of the lower, large front pivot pin, SPORTER half round bolt carrier marked C,
bolt marked MPC with a space (MP_C), lower roll marked COLT'S MFG CO. INC, has a sear block pinned on one side,
no bayonet lug, marked C MP 5.56 NATO 1/9 HBAR, front sight base forge marked C
