I have a good condition AR-15 A2 HBAR Sporter.  This is a 20" A2 style rifle.  It is late 80's early 90's vintage.  Bayo lug is intact and no sear block.  It uses that SP1 slab-side Colt lower with the large front pivot with the screw mechanism, but Roll marked A2 (see below, Colt was notorious for using up stock on hand).  It has an HBAR (heavy profile non-chrome-lined) barrel with the correct peel washer for that era.  I scoped the barrel and would characterize it as mid-life. Comes with one ban-compliant magazine, I will have to double-check capacity, I think it's 10 rounds.

Initial pics up, this is straight out of a good cleaning before oil so you can see the wear level.  I will oil it, reassemble completely  and have some additional pics up this evening.  Let me know what you would like to see.

Plenty of shooting to be done with this really nice Hartford Horsie. It does have some handling marks, but then Colt is never show ponies, they're war horses.  ALSO NON_WEBBED SEAR AREA!  I was going to turn it into a Delta HBAR but with the installation of the potted plant I would rather see it go to a ban state that may need it.  I expect a ban or serious administration and registration burdens any day now.  What you have in hand may be what you move forward with.

Pics will be up ASAP, I field stripped the bolt to clean and give you a sense for wear.  Take your time with this one and be sure it's what you want.  Ask questions if you need to.  You can look up the serial to verify pre-ban status.  If it doesn't sell I will probably just hang on to her and get a letter from Colt and try again later.  I also have a nice Phrobis M9 Bayonet I will put on her for the buyer.

Could you please tell me the stamping / marking on the top of the barrel? Thank you. I have the same rifle, but somewhat swapped out the original barrel. I'd like to know what the original barrels were on the A2 HBAR Sporters. Thanks
