I didn't want to do this but I feel my hand is being forced.
I received an item
yesterday from @JD42. It was advertised/described as "new" and as being a "1/7 twist" barrel. Upon opening the box I found some damage to the receiver (no damage to shipping box) and the barrel is marked 1/8, not 1/7. I contacted JD42 about the issues and provided him pics. He had nothing to say about the issues themselves, only that I could return the item for a full refund. I said I would like to return it and asked for his shipping address. He sent me his address and said he would refund me in full plus the return shipping after he receives it back. I said that ARF precedent would have him refund me in full and then I send it back (I believe I'm correct in this from past issues) but that I would accept half now and the other half when he received it. I then get a phone call from him telling me why it's his policy to not refund any money until he receives the item back. I understand his feelings on it, and I see his excellent feedback, but I also have my feelings on it (what if I get screwed out of my money?).
Who is in the right/wrong here? When should the money be refunded?
