Selling a quality rifle from my collection! A nice Czechpoint VZ58 sidefolder
If you're interested in adding a VZ58 to your personal collection, this is the one you want! Produced entirely in the Czech Republic by Czechpoint (D-Technik A.S.) and imported by CZ-USA, this is the most authentic example available.
A little background.
A while back, Czechpoint had a large supply of VZ58 parts and kits in excellent condition. They used these to assemble complete rifles on their newly-manufactured semi-automatic receivers (forged and milled). The VZ58s were assembled, given a fresh finish, function-tested and fired, boxed up, and shipped to the United States.
More recently, Czechpoint's production of VZ58s has been forced to use barrels manufactured by Lothar Walther in Germany and other parts made here in the United States; the supply of excellent-condition barrels and parts seems to have run out.
Chambered for 7.62x39, the short-stroke, gas piston-operated VZ58 was the Czech answer to the Soviet AK47. Rather than using stamped parts, the VZ58 features rugged milled construction. Interestingly enough, it's noticeably lighter than the AK47 and very well balanced. Notable features include a chrome-lined barrel, bolt hold-open mechanism that is actuated by an empty magazine or by pushing a small button on the bottom of the receiver, and a front sight that is adjustable for windage and elevation. The VZ58 can be loaded with stripper clips, too (the bolt carrier has built-in guides, permitting the user to quickly top-off or reload the mag). The rifle is very easy to disassemble, only requiring the user to unlock two captive pins found on the rear of the receiver cover and the rear of the upper handguard assembly. More importantly, it's accurate, reliable, and rugged as can be!
This VZ58 has 60 rounds through it since leaving the factory and has been meticulously cared for.
The sale includes the rifle, and 5 magazines,
